  • Publication number: 20070276121
Abstract: A novel macromer or mixture thereof is described herein, comprising benzoyl isocyanate terminal moieties and at least two residues of a water-soluble polymer having a molecular weight ranging from 80 to 10,000 adjacent to the carbonyl group of the benzoyl isocyanate moieties, thereby forming at least two ester linkages in the macromer or mixture thereof. A method for making a polyisocyanate macromer is also described herein.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 2, 2007
    Publication date: November 29, 2007

  • Publication number: 20070149640
Abstract: A bimodal bioabsorbable polymer composition. The composition includes a first amount of a bioabsorbable polymer polymerized so as to have a first molecular weight distribution; a second amount of said bioabsorbable polymer polymerized so as to have a second molecular weight distribution having a weight average molecular weight between about 20,000 to about 50,000 Daltons, the weight average molecular weight ratio of said first molecular weight distribution to said second molecular weight distribution is at least about two to one; wherein a substantially homogeneous blend of said first and second amounts of said bioabsorbable polymer is formed in a ratio of between about 50/50 to about 95/5 weight/weight percent. Also disclosed are a medical device and a method of making a medical device.

  • Publication number: 20070059257
Abstract: A composition for the treatment of sensitive teeth comprising a suitable carrier and a desensitizing amount of: a) at least one tubule blocking agent preferably a combination of two such agents; and b) a nerve desensitizing agent selected from the group consisting of at least one potassium salt at least one strontium salt and mixtures thereof wherein the tubule blocking agent deposits or swells upon the dentinal surface and/or precipitates within the dentinal tubules retaining a higher concentration of the nerve desensitizing agent at the exposed dentinal surface and within the dentinal tubules The compositions may further contain a source of physiologically acceptable fluoride ion such as stannous fluoride Also disclosed are methods of using the subject compositions in the treatment of sensitive teeth.
