  • Patent number: 11962470
Abstract: A method and system are provided to facilitate the commissioning of a distributed system. The method and system obtains a base configuration which defines an expected virtual topology for a distributed system, and identifies via a control device a physical network topology of the distributed system to commission the distributed system. The control device performs network discovery to identify a plurality of connected devices that are communicatively coupled thereto, and to collect device information for each connected device relating to its identity and relative position in the distributed system which has connected devices or associated subnetworks connected in a ring network topology. The collected device information for the plurality of connected devices is compared to the expected virtual topology from the base configuration to determine an identity and physical location of the plurality of connected devices and associated subnetworks in the physical network topology of the distributed system.

  • Publication number: 20130238564
Abstract: First and second local file systems remote one from another and having a hierarchical storage structure wherein files are stored within folders within the first local file system. A first file within the first local file system with an embedded link to a second file on the local system is mirrored with a third file within the second local file system. The second file is then mirrored to the second local file system and the third file comprises an embedded link to the mirrored second file on the second file system.

  • Publication number: 20100193260
Abstract: The present invention is an electric car with a maximized solar panel assist. Since batteries are normally charged at night while solar energy is created during the day, this system creates an almost continuous flow of electricity to the batteries. Since the weight and cost of the batteries are the main handicap for electric cars and a continuous flow of electricity minimizes the need for a large and expensive battery system, this is the most logical way to build a viable electric car.

  • Publication number: 20060179462
Abstract: A television signals receiver for receives and stores television signals encoded at a variable data rate. Time information is generated based on the time of receipt of the signals that defines the duration of the television signals when output in decompressed form at a substantially constant data rate. The received signals are then written to a file on a hard disk (13) in received order together with the time information. The time information of signals stored in the file is monitored and old signals are deleted from the file such that the file stores signals corresponding to a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 6209372
Abstract: A hydroformed member having internal reinforcements and method of manufacturing the same. The method includes the steps of providing a die having a tooling cavity and a pair of opposing rams disposed in the tooling cavity. A tubular member is enclosed within the tooling cavity. The pair of opposing rams are then driven against opposing sides of the tubular member to form a pair of opposing indentations therein. While the rams remain in place, hydraulic fluid pressure is then applied within the tubular member causing the walls of the tubular member to closely conform to the shape of the tooling cavity and the pair of opposing rams.

  • Patent number: 6106274
Abstract: A transfer/injection molding apparatus is defined that includes a charge forming unit, a molding unit and a charge overflow unit. The charge is formed so that the fibers therein are randomly oriented in substantially parallel horizontal planes such that they are always substantially parallel to the direction of initial flow into the cavity of the molding unit. Excess charge from the cavity is forced into the charge overflow unit, which is selectively located in an area where surface finish is less critical. The excess charge displaces an overflow pin, which is kept upwardly biased, under molding pressure, to be flush with the lower inside wall of the molding unit cavity.

  • Patent number: 5967592
Abstract: A composite fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) bumper includes an energy absorbing outer shell which is spaced from a rigid inner beam. The outer shell deforms under low impact loads and serves as an energy absorber. Upon high impact loads, the shell abuts the inner beam which, in turn, transfers the loads to the vehicle frame.

  • Patent number: 5902613
Abstract: An automated transfer/injection molding apparatus and process is defined that includes a charge forming unit, a shuttle unit, and a molding unit. The charge is formed from one or more slabs of reinforcing fibers and a resinous material. Once formed, the charge is preheated in the charge shuttle unit and is delivered to the molding unit, whereupon the preheated charges are forced by the pressure of a movable platform under vacuum into a mold cavity for polymerization. The fibers within the slabs are randomly oriented in parallel horizontal planes such that they are always parallel to the direction of initial flow into the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5667868
Abstract: A method of molding an outer body panel and attaching that outer panel to an inner supporting portion of a vehicle. The outer panel is made in a mold having a mold cavity and a plurality of passages extending outwardly from the cavity. During the molding process, ejector pins disposed within these passages are used to provide supplemental pressure within the mold cavity and prevent shrinkage. After the material within the mold has solidified, the mold is opened and the ejector pins are used to eject the outer panel from the mold. Locating members formed in the passages are used to locate and maintain the outer panel in a fixed relationship with respect to the inner supporting portion when they are assembled and bonded to one another.
