  • Patent number: 8447646
Abstract: A system for rapidly generating minimum length pilot training schedules which uses a branch and bound, and a mixed integer programming model with constraints to produce student and resource schedules at a device period level for all pilots of an airline.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 30, 2007
Date of Patent: May 21, 2013
    Assignee: Accenture Global Services Limited
Inventors: Benjamin Glover Thengvall, Xiangtong Qi
  • Patent number: 7764195
Abstract: A traffic signal system has a main housing unit that encloses three nested arrow signals pointed towards the top, namely, a red arrow signal, a yellow arrow signal nested within the red arrow signal, and a green arrow signal nested within the yellow arrow signal. Each arrow signal is made with a plurality of LEDs. A smaller satellite housing unit, preferably one-third to two-thirds the height, is attachable to the main housing unit to provide a left or right turn signal also comprised of three nested arrow signals. Arrow signals are preferably removably installed. A removable cover provides access to the back of the three arrow signals. Both housing units are preferably waterproof and have hinged closures. An electrical terminal block provides for electrical connections. Removable visors shade the light from the LEDs. Water drain knockouts to the visor and housing units facilitate water removal.

  • Patent number: 7379887
Abstract: An automated optimization system for generating multiple alternative training and transition plans for airline pilots which include a recall of furloughed pilots, and limits to deviation of pilot start bid periods for training assignments from a specific bid period, wherein such plans are cost optimized to track payroll costs of pilots recalled from furlough, and the combined time for solving an MIP Model representation and generating such plans therefrom is less than one hour.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 2002
Date of Patent: May 27, 2008
    Assignee: Accenture Global Services GmbH
Inventors: Julian Enrique Pachon, Benjamin Glover Thengvall
  • Patent number: 7346528
Abstract: An automated optimization system for generating training plans for airline pilots covering both pilot transitions and assignment to training classes for pilots who have received a system bid award, wherein such training plans are generated in less than one hour by first solving a MIP Model of the training/transition problem with an LP relaxation to determine a first level of feasibility, and then solving the MIP Model for an optimized feasible solution from which the training plan is derived.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20080060143
Abstract: A nonwoven textile substrate formed from microfibers with a polyurethane matrix fully and/or partially impregnated therein, a nonazo disperse dye within microfibers, including the surface, and the matrix. The dyed fibers having an L value of about 35 or less, an ?E light fastness of about 6 or less when subjected to about 225 kilo-joules, and a long term crock of at least about 1.5.
