Abstract: An embodiment provides a method for measuring an amount of total organic fluoride content of a PFAS containing sample, including: placing a sample comprising a PFAS compound in a measurement device, wherein the measurement device comprises an oxidation cell and a non-oxidation cell, wherein the oxidation cell comprises a boron-doped diamond electrode; measuring, using the measurement device, an amount of total inorganic fluoride of the sample before an oxidation; applying an electrical potential to a portion of the sample in the oxidation cell, wherein the electrical potential oxidizes the PFAS compound; measuring, using the measurement device, an amount of total organic fluoride of the sample after the oxidation to provide a measurement signal of the total organic fluoride; and determining a first derivative of the measurement signal of the total organic fluoride. Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to harvesting geothermal energy from mature and near end-of-life oil and gas reservoirs that have been subjected to secondary oil recovery steam processes like steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD), steamflood, etc. The geothermal potential of these mature SAGD reservoirs can be used to generate green electricity thus reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint of the oil production. Lateral spacing of injectors and producers, with closing of unused members of a well-pair for energy recovery is described.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting game elements in a gaming machine are described herein. In an embodiment, the method includes displaying a plurality of player-selectable elements. Responsive to player input via at least one input device, a first element of the plurality of player-selectable elements is selected. The selected first element is animated with a first animation to commence revealing an outcome associated with the selected first element. After the first element has been selected and while the selected first element is still animating, responsive to player input via the at least one input device, a second element of the plurality of player-selectable elements is selected. The selected second element is animated with a second animation to commence revealing an outcome associated with the selected second element. The method then reveals the outcome associated with the selected first element and the outcome associated with the selected second element.

An updated image may then be generated and presented, derived from the initial image and the actual outcome.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selecting game elements in a gaming machine are described herein. In one embodiment, the method includes presenting a bonus event setting that includes a plurality of game elements and receiving a plurality of game element selections. In the method, each game element selection indicates that one of the game elements has been selected. Additionally, the method also includes presenting an animation sequence for each of the game element selections, wherein portions of the animation sequences are presented simultaneously.
