Abstract: A thermal energy storage container comprising a chamber defined by at least one sidewall, a first end plate and a second end plate, the chamber comprising: at least one fluid inlet, at least one fluid outlet, a flow path for the transport of a heat transfer fluid, e.g. air, from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, and a support configured to support a receptacle within the flow path and enable direct contact between the heat transfer fluid, e.g. air, and a surface of the receptacle.
