  • Publication number: 20230414814
Abstract: A sterilization container for sterilizing medical instruments that includes a body defining an interior volume and a lid connected to the body and configured to seal the interior volume between the lid and the body. The lid includes an exterior filter structure including a first plurality of ridges and a first plurality of troughs formed between the first ridges. The container includes a filter assembly connected to the lid and including an interior filter structure including a second plurality of ridges and a second plurality of troughs formed between the second ridges. The first plurality of ridges of the exterior filter structure are interposed between the second plurality of ridges of the interior filter structure. The exterior and interior filter structures are configured to form longitudinal channels positioned between the lid and filter assembly to define a rectangular tortuous filter path that inhibits ingress and egress from the interior volume.

  • Publication number: 20220370765
Abstract: A catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter, which may include a body and a side port extending outwardly from the body. The body may include a distal end, a proximal end, and an inner surface extending through the distal end and the proximal end and forming a lumen. An angle of the side port with respect to a longitudinal axis of the body may be adjustable. The catheter assembly may include a catheter extending distally from the distal end of the catheter adapter. The catheter assembly may include a septum disposed within the lumen proximal to a side port pathway extending through the side port and in fluid communication with the lumen.

  • Publication number: 20220257905
Abstract: A catheter traction system to apply traction to an intravenous catheter. The catheter traction system may include a rotary device and an extension member. The extension member may extend from the rotary device and be configured to couple to a catheter assembly. In response to activation of the rotary device, the extension member may be configured to apply traction to the catheter assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220110561
Abstract: An IV catheter device can include or being configured to employ a probe assembly having an integrated fluid flushing mechanism. The probe assembly can be configured in a variety of ways to cause flushing fluid to be injected through a fluid permeable structure of the probe as the probe is advanced distally from a catheter. In this way, the fluid permeable structure can be kept clear of any occlusion that may otherwise form. With the probe extending distally from the catheter, a blood sample may be collected.

  • Publication number: 20220047296
Abstract: A vascular access device to passively open a fluid path within a vasculature. The vascular access device may include a catheter and an obturator slidably positioned within the lumen of the catheter. The catheter may have a proximal end, a distal tip comprising an opening having an inner diameter, a sidewall defining a lumen between the proximal end and distal tip. The obturator may have a distal end with an outer diameter configured to form an interference fit with the inner diameter of the distal tip. The obturator may be positioned within the lumen to open various fluid pathways. The obturator may be repositioned to move the catheter tip.

  • Publication number: 20210402141
Abstract: A catheter system may include an outer catheter adapter, an outer catheter having an outer catheter lumen extending through the outer catheter, and an inner surface forming the outer catheter lumen. The catheter system may further include an inner catheter adapter, an inner catheter lumen extending through the inner catheter adapter and an inner catheter extending distally from the inner catheter adapter such that the inner catheter is disposed within the outer catheter lumen and the inner catheter and the inner catheter adapter are configured to move with respect to the outer catheter and the outer catheter adapter between a proximal position and a distal position.
