  • Publication number: 20220266292
Abstract: A sealant smoothing tool for smoothing sealant in a gap between two aircraft parts is disclosed including a main body having a base surface for abutting sliding along a top surface of the aircraft parts, a spatula holder for holding a spatula, the spatula holder being configured to movably mount the spatula relative to the main body, and a resilient biasing member, configured to provide a biasing against the spatula or the spatula holder, such that the spatula supplies a biasing force to the sealant. An aircraft having two parts sealed by the sealant smoothing tool, a kit of parts including a sealant smoothing tool and one or more spatulas, and a method of smoothing sealant to seal a gap between two aircraft parts are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220258849
Abstract: A rib foot cleat for sealing around a stringer passing through a rib mouse hole in an aircraft assembly. The rib foot cleat has a body for attaching to a rib at a rib mouse hole and defines a cleat channel configured to be arranged over the stringer. The rib foot cleat also has an injection hole through the cleat body which is in fluid communication with the cleat channel, to allow sealant material to be injected through the injection hole in to the cleat channel for sealing around the stringer.

  • Publication number: 20060188357
Abstract: An apparatus for containing a nut on a bolt including a housing having a main body, a proximal end and a distal end. A threaded aperture may be formed within the distal end of the main body for threading the housing onto the bolt. A flange extending from the housing that may engage the substrate when the housing is threaded over the bolt. At least one aperture formed within the flange for securing the housing to the substrate. A pair of housings may be placed adjacent one another and secured in a stationary position by a connector inserted through respective apertures formed in a flange of each housing. The connector may connect the housings together and be sized to prevent each housing from turning beyond an acceptable tolerance with respect to the other housing. The connector may be used to secure individual housings to other stationary components.

  • Publication number: 20050264110
Abstract: A flux probe (100) for measuring the rotor flux of an electric generator (10). The probe (100) is affixed to a probe carrier (102) and held within a stator coil slot (62) by affixing the carrier (102) to two opposing grooves (104) formed in sidewalls (81) of the slot (62). One or more stator coils (18) are also disposed in the slot (62) and retained therein by a wedge (74) and corresponding spring (72) that applies an radially outwardly directed force to the coils (18). In one embodiment the probe carrier (102) is affixed to a radially inwardly directed face (82) of the wedge (74).
