  • Patent number: 8816808
Abstract: An inductor cooling method and apparatus is provided, where the inductor comprises both a substantially annular core and an aperture therethrough. The aperture is circumferentially surrounded by the substantially annular core. A container holds a substantially non-conductive coolant and the inductor is immersed in the coolant. Optional spacers hold the inductor away from the container to allow room for coolant circulation.

  • Patent number: 8624702
Abstract: The invention comprises an inductor mounting method and apparatus. An about annular inductor is mounted using a non-conducting mount element passing at least into a center opening of the inductor. Mounting hardware forces an edge surface of the mount into proximate contact with an edge of the inductor, where the mount and mounting hardware minimally contact the inductor. The mount optionally includes holes and/or grooves to further reduce mount/inductor contact, which aids liquid, convective, and/or radiative cooling of the inductor. The inductor is optionally composed of particles of magnetic material coated with carbon and embedded into an epoxy to yield a distributed gap material.

  • Patent number: 8124866
Abstract: A photovoltaic array includes a plurality of elongated rails and rectangular photovoltaic modules. Each rail can have an extruded resin construction and can include a lower base and an upper cap that cooperate to define a pair of grooves that open in opposite directions from each other. The elongated rails can be mounted on a support surface and extend in a spaced and parallel relationship with each other. During mounting, edges of the photovoltaic modules can be received by the grooves. In this way, the photovoltaic modules can be mounted above the support surface in a spaced relationship from the support surface.

  • Patent number: 6617507
Abstract: A photovoltaic array (20, 20′) includes a plurality of elongated rails (28) each of which has a lower base (30) and an upper cap (32) of an extruded resin construction defining a pair of grooves (36) that open in opposite directions from each other to receive edges 36 of rectangular photovoltaic modules (22) so as to provide mounting thereof on a support surface (20, 24). The photovoltaic modules (22) are arranged in pairs (38) with the modules of each pair abutting each other and with each pair of modules being spaced along the elongated lengths of the rails from each adjacent pair of modules to provide openings (40) therebetween. Cross members (42) extend between the lower bases (30) of the rails to space the rails from each other and have upwardly opening shapes that receive electrical wiring (44).

  • Patent number: 5306181
Abstract: A planer fuse panel is presented. In accordance with the present invention, a section of conductive metal of the desired thickness, temper and shape is stamped out from a sheet of conductive metal. Simultaneously, fuse holding spring or bent tabs are formed in the same stamping operation for frictionally engaging blades from blade-type fuses. The edges of the fuse panel include a plurality of male blade connectors of a known configuration. A multiplicity of circuits may be included in the planer fuse panel depending on the number of circuits desired. The circuits may have any suitable planar shape. In a preferred embodiment, each circuit has an overall rectangular shape with a first portion consisting of an "L" shaped element and a second portion comprising a rectangular shaped element located in the shoulder of the first element. Spaces are formed bridging the two portions of each circuit with bent tabs extending into each space to frictionally engage a blade-type terminal from a fuse or the like.
