  • Publication number: 20220313713
Abstract: This liquid composition includes a psychoactive alkaloid extract or synthetic psychoactive alkaloid. The alkaloids in the extract are predominantly dephosphorylated rather than phosphorylated. The vaporizble psychoactive alkaloid composition includes an alcohol or polyol carrier, fatty acid, fatty alcohol, optional antioxidant, optional flavorant, and optional further excipients. A process for obtaining a vaporizble psychoactive alkaloid composition includes dephosphorylating the alkaloid during extraction, purifying the extracted alkaloid, and standardizing it to a specific concentration by adding measured quantities of excipients.

  • Publication number: 20220313762
Abstract: A transmucosal psychoactive alkaloid composition including a psychoactive alkaloid extract or synthetic psychoactive alkaloid. The alkaloids in the extract are predominantly dephosphorylated rather than phosphorylated. The transmucosal psychoactive alkaloid composition also includes a mucoadhesive polymer, a carrier, and optional further excipients. The non-ingestive composition may be taken orally through the mucosa. A process for obtaining an oral transmucosal psychoactive alkaloid composition includes dephosphorylating the alkaloid during extraction, purifying the extracted alkaloid and standardizing to a specific concentration by adding measured quantities of excipients.

  • Publication number: 20220305402
Abstract: This invention relates to the extraction of psychoactive compounds from fungus for use in medicine. Raw fungus is dried and ground. The solvent used for extraction is methanol or a hydro-methanol mixture, an acidic hydro-methanol mixture, or an alkaline hydro-methanol mixture. The extraction slurry is filtered and pH-adjusted if necessary. The methanol in the solvent is then completely evaporated and water added back, where necessary, to form a concentrated slurry. The concentrated slurry is then standardized to provide a known concentration of the psychoactive alkaloids that have been extracted. The standardized slurry may then be dried to result in a powdered extract with a precisely defined purity of psychoactive compounds.

  • Publication number: 20220226405
Abstract: This invention relates to the extraction of psychoactive compounds from organisms for use in medicine. Extraction is carried out with a strong acid or strong base to either promote or inhibit dephosphorylation. The extract in the slurry form is standardized with added excipient so that when it is dried the powdered composition has a specified total psychoactive alkaloid concentration, with a known ratio of phosphorylated to dephosphorylated psychoactive alkaloids.

  • Publication number: 20220211671
Abstract: The liquid composition includes a psychoactive alkaloid extract or synthetic psychoactive alkaloid. The alkaloids in the extract are predominantly dephosphorylated rather than phosphorylated. The injectable psychoactive alkaloid composition includes a carrier, an optional tonicity modifier, an optional antioxidant or preservative, an optional pH modifier, and optional further excipients. A process for obtaining an injectable psychoactive alkaloid composition includes dephosphorylating the alkaloid during extraction, purifying the extracted alkaloid, and standardizing it to a specific concentration by adding measured quantities of excipients.

  • Publication number: 20220202886
Abstract: This invention relates to the extraction of psychoactive compounds from psilocybin fungus for use in medicine. Raw psilocybin fungus is dried and ground. The solvent used for extraction is a lower aliphatic alcohol, water, a hydro-alcohol mixture, an acidic hydro-alcohol mixture, or an alkaline hydro-alcohol mixture. The extraction slurry is filtered and pH-adjusted if necessary. The solvent is then partially evaporated, or completely evaporated with water added back, to form a concentrated slurry. The concentrated slurry is then standardized to provide a known concentration of the psychoactive alkaloids that have been extracted. The standardized slurry may then be dried to result in a powdered psilocybin mushroom extract with a precisely defined purity.
