  • Publication number: 20160106928
Abstract: A system and method for mixing fluid constituents within a multi-stage mixing syringe, and delivering the mixture formed in the mixing syringe. The multi-stage mixing syringe system includes an outer syringe barrel defining a first contained volume therein, an intermediate syringe barrel and plunger configured for coupling within the outer syringe barrel and for advancement and retraction within the first contained volume, and defining a second contained volume therein, and an inner syringe plunger configured for coupling within the intermediate syringe barrel and plunger and for advancement and retraction within the second contained volume.

  • Publication number: 20160067422
Abstract: A self-righting tip cap includes a cap body having a generally oblate spheroid external shell geometry defining a first end and a second end. The first end has a base surface, and at least one clip extends from the body towards the second end. A coupling element accessible from the second end provides removable attachment of the tip cap to a cooperating coupling of a syringe or other female ENFit connectors. The geometry of the tip cap causes it to tend toward uprighting itself when dropped onto a flat surface, such that the base surface is in contact with the flat surface and the coupling element is accessible in an upward facing orientation. According to example forms, at least one rib of a female coupling can become interengaged with at least a portion of the clips such that the self-righting tip cap can be pulled and/or rotationally moved relative to the female coupling to be removed therefrom.

  • Publication number: 20160067471
Abstract: A connector for medical fluid vessels includes a fluid-seal fitting such as a male plug defining a lumen and mating with a cooperating connector, a mechanical fastener such as a screw thread for mating with the cooperating connector, and an outer housing positioned around the plug to form an annular space. Optionally, a cap can be provided with a fluid-seal fitting such as a male plug for mating with the lumen of the connector. The connector includes one or more vent openings for drainage and air-drying of any residual fluid in the annular space when capped, as well as for breaking a vacuum to prevent fluid backflow and thus ensure more accurate dosing. In some embodiments, the vent openings are provided in the outer housing. And in some embodiments, the vent openings are provided in the cap.

  • Publication number: 20160067147
Abstract: A transfer lid for a fluid container, having an attachment collar for removably attaching the transfer lid to the fluid container, and an inner collar arranged generally concentrically with and spaced inwardly from the attachment collar, the inner collar having a vent opening such as a vent slot extending therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20150164744
Abstract: A container for collecting, transporting, storing, delivering and dispensing fluid. The container has a hollow tube with an outer circumference diameter and is configured to receive a plunger. A collection adaptor and a dispensing adaptor provide interchangeable coupling of a variable volume container such as a syringe with a collection device such as a breast pump and a dispensing device such as a nipple. The container also has a circumferential seal assembly secured at one end of the hollow tube. The seal assembly outer diameter is substantially similar to the hollow tube outer diameter.

  • Publication number: 20150148753
Abstract: A syringe having a syringe body defining an elongate cavity therein with a non-circular internal cross-sectional profile, and a syringe plunger operable to selectively travel within the hollow cavity with a non-circular external cross-sectional profile that substantially mirrors the syringe body's internal cross-sectional profile for mating engagement thereof. The enteral syringe may also have venting features and support features for hanging from a support structure.
