  • Patent number: 7805921
Abstract: An agricultural harvesting machine includes a feeder housing and a cutting platform attached to the feeder housing. The cutting platform includes at least one platform section, with each platform section having a frame, a cutterbar assembly at a leading edge of the platform section, and an excessive localized deflection indicator associated with the cutterbar assembly. One or more pairs of reel support arms are provided, with each pair associated with a corresponding reel. Each pair of reel support arms is movable toward and away from the cutterbar assembly, dependent upon a state of the excessive localized deflection indicator.

Date of Patent: October 5, 2010
    Assignee: Deere & Company
Inventors: Bruce Alan Coers, Paul David Marvin, Benjamin Max Lovett
  • Patent number: 7520115
Abstract: A float arm load compensation system for a header of an agricultural harvester includes a header frame; a plurality of header float arms pivotally coupled to the header frame; a cutter bar fixed to forward ends of the plurality of header float arms; at least one conveyor belt supported on the plurality of header float arms and configured to traverse the header perpendicular to the direction of travel of the header, wherein the conveyor belt is further configured to receive crop material cut by the cutter bar; and a plurality of springs, wherein each spring is coupled to an associated header float arm of the plurality of header float arms to exert a force on the associated header float arm compensating for the weight of cut crop material supported by the associated header float arm.

  • Patent number: 7467506
Abstract: An agricultural harvesting machine includes a feeder housing and a cutting platform attached to the feeder housing. The cutting platform includes a frame, an accumulator carried by the frame, a plurality of float arms movably coupled with the frame, and a plurality of float cylinders. Each float cylinder is coupled between the frame and a respective float arm. A shut-off valve is fluidly connected between the accumulator and at least one float cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6932849
Abstract: A vortex-type filter assembly comprising a housing, a removable inlet module, and a removable outlet module. The housing comprises an inlet portion, a filtration chamber, and an outlet portion. The inlet module separates the inlet portion from the filtration chamber, and has one or more vortex generating inlet passages. The outlet module separates the filtration chamber from the outlet portion, and has one or more outlet passages. There is one outlet passage cooperating with every one inlet passage for filtering debris from the fluid. One or both of inlet module and the outlet module may be removed to facilitate servicing of the filter assembly.

  • Patent number: 6796897
Abstract: An airfoil is placed in ductwork that directs airflow from a combine cooling fan the pneumatically blast dust, chaff and other debris off the top of a separator unit. The airfoil comprises a leading edge, a trailing edge located downstream from the leading edge, a thickness, and a chord extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge. The airfoil is adapted to encourage airflow downward toward to outlet of the ductwork and to discourage air from swirling back toward the inlet of the ductwork.
