  • Publication number: 20230331295
Abstract: A vehicle and steering system for a vehicle are described. The vehicle is described to include a frame and a first set of wheels configured to rotate about a first rotational axis. Each wheel in the first set of wheels is independently motor controlled and pivotably mounted to the frame such that the first set of wheels spin about a first steering axis. The first steering axis may be orthogonal to the first rotational axis.

  • Publication number: 20220219788
Abstract: A number of different vehicle configurations are disclosed. An illustrative vehicle is disclosed to include a solid surfaced body having a front end, a propulsion unit that applies a propulsion force to the body and causes the front end to travel toward a traveling medium in a direction of travel, and at least one output port that is positioned on the body in such a way that fluid expelled from the at least one output port is expelled in a direction opposite to the propulsion force, wherein the fluid expelled from the at least one output port is expelled at a rate that is at least one order of magnitude less than a rate at which fluid is displaced by the propulsion unit.

  • Publication number: 20220203758
Abstract: Mechanisms are disclosed for releasably attaching a wheel to a vehicle in a position where the wheel supports a weight of the vehicle. An illustrative quick connect system is described to include a wheel, a vehicle frame, and a coupling system that releasably attaches the wheel to the vehicle frame. The coupling system, when in a coupled state, may substantially prevent or oppose rotation between a wheel core and the vehicle frame.

  • Publication number: 20210276644
Abstract: Vehicles are disclosed which have a lower center of gravity than existing all-terrain, amphibious, and unmanned ground vehicles due to the location of propulsion units and other vehicle components inside the wheels of the vehicle. The vehicles can climb over large obstacles vet are also able to corner at high speeds. The vehicles can be configured for direct manual operation or operation by remote control, and can also be configured for a wide variety of missions.

  • Publication number: 20210197903
Abstract: Vehicles are disclosed that are configured to carry loads in a stabilized manner, such that the load is maintained in a substantially constant position or orientation relative to a predetermined reference point or frame even as the vehicle moves. A stabilization controller in such a vehicle receives information about movement of the vehicle relative to the reference point or plane from one or more sensors on the vehicle, and uses the information to control one or more movable objects by which the load is secured to the vehicle so as to maintain a relatively constant relationship between the load and the reference point or plane.

  • Publication number: 20200122887
Abstract: A device that assists with equalizing air pressure within a bottle with the atmospheric air pressure as liquid is being poured from the bottle and includes one or more relatively short air tubes. The air tubes are situated with an upper inlet rim of the air tubes located flush with or relatively near the bottle rim. Whether an insert or integrated into the manufacture of a container, the one or more air tubes that extend partially into the container allow air to pass into the container as the liquid exits the container. The pressure equalizer not only minimizes or prevents the common glugging effect, but it allows liquid from a bottle to be poured smoothly at any angle and orientation. A cap incorporating a detachable pressure equalizer is also described.
