In one embodiment, the method includes identifying, via a processor of an automation system, a status of an occupant of a premises, determining, via the processor, a setting of an automated device associated with the status of the occupant, and implementing, via the processor, the setting of the automated device upon identifying the status of the occupant. In some cases, the status of the occupant includes at least one of an action of the occupant and a location of the action.
