  • Patent number: 10463357
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for securing tissue to bone. A surgical system can include a driver device, an elongate shaft receivable within the driver device and having a dilator feature at its distal end, and a capture suture extending through the shaft such that the capture suture's terminal end portions extend to a more proximal position on the driver and the capture suture forms a loop that extends through an opening formed through a side of the shaft. The loop is configured to receive at least one retention suture therethrough and can be tightened by pulling the capture suture's terminal ends, thereby coupling the retention suture with the suture anchor. Once the shaft is inserted into bone and the loop with the retention suture is closed, the suture anchor is driven distally towards the dilator features and into the bone to secure the retaining suture in the bone.

  • Publication number: 20190315602
Abstract: Cranes and crane systems with high capacity lifting capabilities, as well as versatility and relatively large operational areas. A crane of the present disclosure may have main boom pivotable about a substantially horizontal axis and a luffing assembly configured for luffing the boom about the axis. The main boom may be pivotable in both a forward luffing operation and a reverse or rearward luffing operation. In this way, the main boom may be operable within a range extending up to 180 degrees. Various adjustment mechanisms may be used to shift the main boom from a forward luffing operation to a reverse luffing operation. Additionally, a crane of the present disclosure may have a utility boom rotatable about a substantially vertical axis. The utility boom may allow for added lateral reach of the crane, thus further increasing the operational area of the crane.

  • Patent number: 10385433
Abstract: Methods for processing bonded dual alloy rotors are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes obtaining a bonded dual alloy rotor including rotor blades bonded to a hub disk. The rotor blades and hub disk are composed of different alloys. A minimum processing temperature (TDISK_PROCESS_MIN) for the hub disk and a maximum critical temperature for the rotor blades (TBLADE_MAX) is established such that TBLADE_MAX is less than TDISK_PROCESS_MIN. A differential heat treatment process is then performed during which the hub disk is heated to processing temperatures equal to or greater than TDISK_PROCESS_MIN, while at least a volumetric majority of each of the rotor blades is maintained at temperatures below TBLADE_MAX. Such a targeted differential heat treatment process enables desired metallurgical properties (e.g., precipitate hardening) to be created within the hub disk, while preserving the high temperature properties of the rotor blades and any blade coating present thereon.

  • Publication number: 20190221225
Abstract: Systems and techniques for automated voice assistant personality selector are described herein. A task may be identified that is to be completed by a user of a voice-enabled virtual assistant. A response may be output in connection with the task using a default personality for the voice-enabled virtual assistant selected based on the task. A task completion checkpoint may be determined for the task. It may be identified that the task completion checkpoint has not been reached. A personality profile of the user may be compared to personality data of a set of voice-enabled virtual assistant profiles corresponding to respective members of a set of available voice personalities for the voice-enabled virtual assistant. An escalation personality may be selected for the voice-enabled virtual assistant based the comparison and the task. Commands for facilitating user completion of the task may be transmitted via the voice-enabled virtual assistant using the selected escalation personality.
