Publication number: 20250112488Abstract: Electric fields that can cause corrosion of contacts can be compensated for by embodiments of the present invention. For example, voltage waveforms at the contacts can be made to have a zero volt average, and therefore have a zero net electric field. Galvanic voltages generated by dissimilar metals used by a contact and a housing can generate an electric field, and currents motivated by the galvanic electric field can be blocked by capacitively coupling the contacts to their corresponding circuits.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2024Publication date: April 3, 2025Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Albert Wang, Todd S. Mintz, Benjamin Morse, Christopher S. Graham, Eric X. Zhou, Karl Ruben Fredrik Larsson, Nicholas S. Brodine

Publication number: 20240380906Abstract: The disclosed technology addresses the need in the art for to facilitate user accounts participating in live audio-video sessions such as voice and/or video calls, or watching game play remotely to capture a clip of the video call or game play after seeing some event during the live audio-video session. The present technology can maintain a rolling buffer of the audio-video streams such that a user account can retroactively capture a clip of the audio-video streams after it has already been presented.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2023Publication date: November 14, 2024Applicant: Discord Inc.Inventors: Chao Chen, Benjamin Morse

Patent number: 9454838Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments relate to systems and methods for providing animated multimedia, e.g. animated shows, to an audience over a network. Particularly, some embodiments provide systems and methods for generating and providing audio, animation, and other experience-related information so that user's may readily experience the content in a seamless manner (e.g., as an audience member watching a show, playing a video game, etc.). Various embodiments animate “to the audience” based, e.g., on what content the audience is consuming. The animations may be generated in real-time from constituent components and assets in response to user behavior.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2014Date of Patent: September 27, 2016Assignee: PULLSTRING, INC.Inventors: Michael Chann, Jon Collins, Benjamin Morse, Lucas R. A. Ives, Martin Reddy, Oren M. Jacob

Publication number: 20150243279Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments concern systems and methods for identifying and recommending interesting user responses that are obtained by an interactive device (e.g., audio responses to a virtual character as part of a virtual interaction). In some embodiments, a user may interact with one or more virtual characters via a mobile device, tablet, desktop computer, or the like. During the interaction, the user may respond to one or more questions posed by the virtual characters or to contexts presented by the interactive device. The system may record these user responses, analyze the audio data to extract one or more features, and prepare a ranking of the user responses. The extracted features can be augmented with human-generated metadata or ground truth values. A reviewer can review, share, etc., the user response.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2015Publication date: August 27, 2015Inventors: Benjamin Morse, Martin Reddy, Aurelio Tinio, James Chalfant

Publication number: 20140279536Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided for an online jury research system which enables a multiplicity of end-users to build surrogate jury surveys by way of a communications network, such as the Internet. The online jury research system comprises a survey builder which enables the end-users to upload information for which responses of surrogate jurors are desired and to assemble surrogate jury surveys. The uploaded information may include questions, videotaped opening or closing statements, depositions, exhibits, and graphics. A host site is accessible to the end-users by way of the communications network and provides access to a jury services package. In an embodiment, the survey services package comprises services operated by one or more third-party service providers. The online jury research system provides the surrogate jury survey to selected respondents and then compiles the results for review by the end-users.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2014Publication date: September 18, 2014Inventor: Benjamin Morse
