    Abstract: The invention comprises a variable volume rotary vane pump or motor having an improved sealing relationship between vanes radially extending from a rotor and the inner cylindrical surface of an outer sleeve. The improved sealing is performed by means of vane caps (seals) which are urged radially outward against the inner circumferential wall of the outer cylinder by fluid pressure.
