    Abstract: A method comprises transmitting a transmit signal via a transmit phased array antenna of a radar system, and receiving at least respective first and second receive signals via at least respective first and second sub-arrays of a receive phased array antenna of the radar system. The first sub-array is electronically steered utilizing a first type of squinting and the second sub-array is electronically steered using a second type of squinting. The method further comprises processing the first and second receive signals through respective first and second receive signal paths to generate respective first and second digital receive signals, computing respective first and second sets of range-Doppler information for the respective first and second digital receive signals, determining range and velocity for a target based at least in part on a combination of at least portions of the first and second sets of range-Doppler information, and computing azimuth and elevation angles.

    Abstract: A method comprises performing an iterative calibration process in which transmit signals are transmitted via respective different selected subsets of antenna elements of a transmit phased array antenna of a radar system and corresponding amounts of transmit signal energy are monitored in a receive phased array antenna of the radar system to determine impacts of the different selected subsets of antenna elements of the transmit phased array antenna on isolation between the transmit and receive phased array antennas. The method further comprises identifying a particular one of the different selected subsets of the antenna elements of the transmit phased array antenna based at least in part on their relative impacts on the isolation between the transmit and receive phased array antennas, and utilizing the particular identified subset of the antenna elements of the transmit phased array antenna for isolation-enhancing transmit signal cancellation during operation of the radar system.

The antenna switch module may include a plurality of antenna switches (310, 312) positioned in series and configured to pass signals between the antenna and wireless communication circuitry and to selectively operate in one of the bands. The first antenna switch (310) may include a plurality of pins (314) arranged in a first configuration, and the second antenna switch (312) may include a plurality of pins (316) arranged in a second configuration that is a mirror image of the first configuration. The antenna switch module may further include a plurality of non-overlapping signal paths (318) configured to selectively deliver signals between the antenna switches, each signal path being associated with a respective band.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for reducing magnetic field in near-field by presenting high impedance at an operating frequency band are disclosed. A conducting element (112), which is suspended substantially parallel to a first side (104) of a printed circuit board (102) of a wireless portable communication device (100) over an electrically grounded conductor (116), forms a reactive element. The reactive element provides high impedance at operating frequencies of the wireless portable communication device and diverts radio frequency currents from the first side of the printed circuit board to the second side of the printed circuit board such that a magnetic field produced by the radio frequency currents on the first side of the printed circuit board is reduced in the near-field.
