  • Publication number: 20250082190
Abstract: A method for pre-cleaning an endoscope. The method including: fluidly connecting channels for transporting fluids within an endoscope to each other at a distal end of the endoscope, the channels extending from a respective connection port to the distal end of the endoscope; connecting a suction pump, to at least one of the connection ports or to the distal end of the endoscope; connecting at least one vessel that holds liquid to the at least one of the connection ports; and flushing at least one of the channels with liquid by activating the suction pump so that liquid is drawn from the at least one vessel through the at least one channel towards the suction pump.

  • Publication number: 20250082188
Abstract: A method for pre-cleaning an endoscope. The method including: fluidly connecting channels for transporting fluids within an endoscope to each other at a distal end of the endoscope by arranging a container onto the distal end of the endoscope such that the channels are fluidly connected to each other at the distal end of the endoscope, the channels extending from a respective connection port to the distal end of the endoscope; connecting a suction pump to at least one of the connection ports; connecting at least one liquid source to the at least one of the connection ports; and flushing at least one of the channels with a liquid by activating the suction pump so that the liquid is drawn from the liquid source through the at least one channel via the distal end towards the suction pump.

  • Publication number: 20250082191
Abstract: A method for pre-cleaning an endoscope including: connecting a liquid source, a suction pump, and a sealing element each to first, second and third channel openings. The channel openings are connected to the liquid source, suction pump, or sealing element. The first channel opening is at an end of a first channel section and at a distal end of the endoscope. The second channel opening is at an end of a second channel section and is a connection port. The third channel opening is at an end of a third channel section and is a connection port. The liquid source provides a gas-tight seal, has a holding chamber with a volume for holding liquid, and the holding chamber volume is changeable. The suction pump is activated for drawing liquid from the liquid source, wherein the holding chamber volume reduces during drawing of liquid from the liquid source.

  • Publication number: 20250082189
Abstract: A method for pre-cleaning an endoscope. The method including: drawing liquid into at least one channel of a plurality of channels of an endoscope for transporting fluids, wherein each of the plurality of channels extend from a respective connection port, for connection of a fluid hose, to a distal end of the endoscope; and determining an electrical parameter of fluid or fluids in at least one of the plurality of channels into which liquid has been drawn.

  • Patent number: 10085817
Abstract: A connecting device for coupling a rinsing system to a channel of a surgical instrument to be cleaned, including: a connecting element; a supply-side coupling apparatus having a holding channel to receive the connecting element extending within the holding channel in a longitudinal axial direction in a connected state, and which is provided at the end of a connecting channel that communicates with the channel, wherein the holding channel is connected to the rinsing system for feeding a rinsing liquid to the channel, wherein the coupling apparatus comprises a sealing element; and means for hydraulically and/or pneumatically actuating the sealing element; wherein the sealing element is elastic; and the sealing element reduces a cross-section of the holding channel in a region of the sealing element by means of an expansion transverse to the longitudinal axial direction) to provide a liquid-tight connection of the connecting element to the coupling apparatus.
