  • Publication number: 20080136245
Abstract: A chair includes a body portion and a leg support portion coupled to the body portion by a removable and adjustable joint that includes first and second halves respectively attached to the leg support portion and the body portion in a removable manner. The first half is rotatable with respect to the second half between first and second positions whereby the leg support portion is movable with respect to the body portion between a regular position and a special support position. Thus, the leg support portion may assume stable physical engagement with an irregular fixture surface and can also be raised for supporting legs of a sitter on a raised position. Further, in case the chair body is adjustable, which changes the relative position between the leg support portion and the chair body portion, the adjustability of the joint allows the leg support portion to regain stable engagement with the fixture surface.

  • Patent number: 7195310
Abstract: A chair includes a support assembly comprised of a first leg set having two space first bars and a second leg set having two space second bars located between and pivoted to the first bars. A backrest has is rotatable with respect to the support assembly to selectively change a tilting angle thereof. A tubular slide is movably fit over a free end of each first bar and is pivoted to the backrest. The slide has a fastening device to selectively secure the slide with respect to the first bar thereby releasably securing the backrest at a desired tilting angle. A wire and a spring are selectively connected between the slide and the first bar to prevent the slide from undesired separation from the first bar and to induce a returning force to move the backrest from a tilted position back to a regular position.

  • Patent number: 6955398
Abstract: A rocking chair includes a frame and pads mounted to the frame for supporting a sitter. The frame includes a chair body having a seat portion and a seatback pivotally coupled to the seat portion and a rocker base having two concave rocker bars located on opposite sides of the chair body and two convex top bars having ends mounted to the rocker bars respectively with a stretch bar extending between each top bar and each rocker bar in an inclined manner. Opposite side edges of the seatback are pivoted to the top bars of the rocker base and opposite side edges of the seat portion are coupled to stretch bars by slide joints that are movably mounted to and selectively secured along the stretch bar.

  • Patent number: 6848740
Abstract: A collapsible chair. The chair includes a chair frame having two spaced leg structures and a top ring mounted to and supported on the leg structures. Each leg structure includes a top bar and front and rear side bars depending from the top bar to form a substantially U-shape. The top ring is fixed to the top bars. The front and rear side bars are rotatable with respect to the top bar for collapsing the chair frame. Front and rear ground members are respectively connected between the front side bars and the rear side bars. The ground members have a U-shaped configuration having a bottom section positionable on a fixture and first and second side sections extending from opposite ends of the bottom section. The first side section is rotatably fit over a lower end of a first one of the front side bars or the rear side bars of the leg structures and the second side section is removably fit over a second one of the front side bars or the rear side bar of the leg structures.
