  • Publication number: 20070174196
Abstract: The disclosure provides systems and methods for helping authenticate products and registrations of such products. One method for providing a product comprises providing a product associated with a first identifier, such as a serial number, to a customer. The method further includes providing a registration form with a second identifier to the customer. This registration form is associated with the product and the second identifier comprises an encrypted form of the first identifier. One method for verifying a product registration comprises receiving a registration form from a customer, with the registration form including a first identifier and a second identifier. Normally, the second identifier comprises an encrypted value. A decrypted value of the second identifier is then compared to the first identifier. The registration form may then be verified if the decrypted value and the first identifier are substantially similar.
