  • Patent number: 11946819
Abstract: A transient pressure event detection system and method for a pipeline network are disclosed. The system includes a data repository encoding route data on the pipeline network, a data receiver configured to receive timestamped pipeline sensor data from each of a plurality of sensors that are spaced apart in the pipeline network, use the sensor data received to identify a transient pressure event occurrence and the timestamp for the event occurrence's arrival time, determine routes in the pipeline network between the sensors, for each route determine a potential source location in the pipeline network for the transient pressure event, perform a simulated transient event for each potential source location and determine a modelled arrival time of a transient corresponding to the event, compare the timestamp of the event occurrence with the modelled arrival time and select the potential source location corresponding to the closest modelled arrival time.

  • Publication number: 20230204165
Abstract: A method and system for detecting an anomaly in a pumped pipeline is disclosed. A data stream is received over time on operation of the pump and pump start and pump stop event data is obtained from the data stream. For each pair in time of a pump start event and preceding pump stop event in the data stream flow is calculated and compared to expected flow. Variation between calculated flow and expected flow is recorded as an exception and an alarm is triggered in dependence on the exception.

  • Patent number: 11340135
Abstract: A rising main pipeline assessment system and method. An analysis system obtains data recorded on the pipeline and generates a steady state hydraulic model for the pipeline which defines expected performance zones under normal operating conditions and zone boundaries delineating normal and abnormal operating conditions. Model data is recorded in a data repository of the processing hub. A monitoring system includes a pipeline-connectable pressure transducer configured to obtain measurements during operation of the pipeline and generate, for each of a plurality of predetermined time periods, a data record including minimum, maximum and mean measurements. The data record is communicated to a processing hub which is configured to classify each received data record measurement according to its measurements and the performance zones of the model.
