  • Patent number: 10149688
Abstract: A positioning device for acetabular procedures is provided. The positioning device for acetabular procedures includes a base plate, a central pin guide hole, a first positioning hole, and a second positioning hole. The central pin guide hole is provided through a central portion of the base plate and configured for guiding a center pin to be disposed in a specific portion of an acetabulum of a patient. The first positioning hole is provided through a first edge portion of the base plate and configured for guiding a first stabilizing pin. The second positioning hole is provided through a second edge portion of the base plate and configured for guiding a second stabilizing pin. The positioning device further includes a third positioning hole provided through a third edge portion of the base plate and configured for guiding a third stabilizing pin.

  • Publication number: 20180125506
Abstract: A reamer for acetabular procedures comprises a hemispherical head portion, through-holes, a stem portion, a center hole, and a tool-engaging portion. The through-holes are bored through a shell portion of the hemispherical head portion. The stem portion extends from an inner peak portion of the hemispherical head portion and has a specific length. The center hole is bored through the stem portion and the shell portion of the hemispherical head portion. The tool-engaging portion is provided at an end portion of the stem portion and configured for engaging an external tool for spinning the reamer. A size of through-hole is proportional to a distance from the peak portion to the position of the specific through-hole. Each of the through-holes is for grinding a bone structure and removes the ground bone powder therethrough from an outside of the hemispherical head portion to an inside of the hemispherical head portion.

  • Patent number: 9186160
Abstract: A patient-specific instrument for durable resurfacing hip replacement device comprises a head-neck-area receiving inner portion, a top edge portion, an outer portion, one or more distal-head-neck-hole guiding pins, a femoral-shaft-hole guiding pin, and a vertical groove. The head-neck-area receiving inner portion is contoured to fit over a portion of head, neck, and upper shaft body of the femur. The one or more distal-head-neck-hole guiding pins are installed on the top edge portion, so as to work as a first reference line showing a first direction of a long nail portion of the durable resurfacing hip replacement device. The femoral-shaft-hole guiding pin is installed on the outer portion, so as to work as a second reference line showing a second direction of a lag screw portion of the durable resurfacing hip replacement device. The vertical groove is provided on the outer portion and aligned in parallel to the femoral-shaft-hole guiding pin.

  • Patent number: 8840675
Abstract: A minimal invasive hip arthroplasty device is provided. The device includes a long nail portion, a lag screw portion, distal locking screws, and a resurfacing head. The long nail portion is inserted into a shaft body of a femur from a top portion of the femur and disposed in the femur. The lag screw portion engages and anchors at the long nail portion through a lag screw hole, and the lag screw portion is inserted into a neck of the femur. The distal locking screws queue through the shaft body of the femur perpendicularly and fix the long nail portion to the femur further. The resurfacing head includes a cup portion configured to cover a head of the femur and a fixing pin portion configured to be inserted into the head and the neck of the femur and engaging the lag screw portion through a resurfacing head hole.
