  • Publication number: 20220078096
Abstract: A shared computer network includes a plurality of servers each having a server program which creates remote objects and makes references to the remote objects accessible and a client having a client program which obtains the references to the remote objects and invokes methods on the remote objects. The client program and the server program can provide both distributed method invocation so that all of the plurality of servers receive a distributed method invocation from the client and directed method invocation so that a specific one of the plurality of servers receives a directed method invocation from the client. The client program and the server program can also provide automatic directed method request routing so that the directed method invocation is transparently routed to a correct one of the plurality of servers.

  • Patent number: 11155903
Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of soft magnetic alloy embodiments for use in additive manufacturing and structures fabricated from such alloys. In some embodiments, the fabricated structures comprise a continuous thin wall (or plurality thereof) having a geometry that promotes reduced eddy current losses and other performance enhancements. In some embodiments, the fabricated structures are used to make components, such as transformer cores and/or electric motors.

  • Patent number: 8796883
Abstract: A method is disclosed for managing power at an unmanned remote cell site having at least one battery and at least one generator. The method includes the steps of determining whether there is a commercial power outage at the remote cell site and determining whether site temperature at the remote cell site and battery charge of the at least one battery at the remote cell site meet predetermined limits for battery discharging. Discharge of the at least one battery is automatically initiated to power the remote cell site if there is a commercial power outage and the site temperature and the battery charge both meet the predetermined limits for battery discharging. Operation of the at least one generator is automatically initiated to power the remote cell site if there is a commercial power outage and the site temperature and the battery charge do not both meet predetermined limits for battery discharging.

  • Patent number: 8442515
Abstract: A monitoring unit for a remote site includes a processor and memory configured to receive definitions of measurements and alarms to be collected at the remote site and to store the definitions of the measurements and alarms, a plurality of port connectors for communicating the processor with downstream collection devices that collect the measurements and alarms at the remote site, and a communication system for reporting the collected measurements and alarms to upstream systems. The definitions for the alarms and measurements can be provided from the port connections, stored script processes, and SNMP proxy. The memory is configured to automatically store a history of the measurements and alarms collected which can be exported to the upstream systems. The processor is configured to collect derived measurements not directly collected from the downstream collection devices.
