  • Patent number: 12249057
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting, geolocating, assessing, and/or inventorying infrastructure assets. In some embodiments, a plurality of images captured by a moving camera may be used to generate a point cloud. A plurality of points corresponding to a pavement surface may be identified from the point cloud. The plurality of points may be used to generate at least one synthetic image of the pavement surface, the at least one synthetic image having at least one selected camera pose. The at least one synthetic image may be used to assess at least one condition of the pavement surface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2023
Date of Patent: March 11, 2025
    Assignee: RoadBotics, Inc.
Inventors: Benjamin T. Schmidt, Miguel Dickson, Christoph Mertz, Anshul Goyal

  • Publication number: 20230306573
Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing infrastructure assets. In some embodiments, sensor data collected from a plurality of infrastructure assets may be analyzed, and an infrastructure asset may be identified as a candidate for a selected type of maintenance. The infrastructure asset may include a road segment, and the sensor data may include an image of a pavement surface along the road segment. One or more machine learning models may be used to identify a portion of the image exhibiting a selected type of damage, such as cracking, chipping, pothole, etc.
