  • Patent number: 9735974
Abstract: Measures, including methods, systems and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums, for use in processing multicast group membership discovery protocol messages in a data center network including a plurality of compute servers. Each compute server in the plurality is capable of running one or more virtual machines. At a multicast group membership discovery protocol proxy located on a compute server in the plurality, a multicast group membership discovery protocol report message is received requesting delivery of data associated with a specified multicast group from a specified multicast data source. It is determined whether the specified multicast data source is hosted by a virtual machine running on the compute server. In response to a positive determination, a request corresponding to the received multicast group membership discovery protocol report message is forwarded to the virtual machine hosting the specified multicast data source on the compute server.

  • Patent number: 9728371
Abstract: A magnetic system for uniformly scanning an ion beam across a semiconductor wafer comprises a magnetic scanner having ac and dc coil windings each of which extend linearly along internal pole faces of a magnetic core. The ac and dc coil windings are mutually orthogonal; a time dependent magnetic component causes ion beam scanning while a substantially static (dc) field component allows the ion beam to be bent in an orthogonal plane. The current density in the ac and dc coil windings is uniformly dispersed along the pole faces leading to an improved beam spot uniformity at the wafer. The magnetic system also includes a collimator having first and second mutually opposed symmetrical dipoles defining an aperture between them. The poles of each dipole have a pole face varying monotonically and polynomially in a direction perpendicular to a central axis of the collimator: an increasing pole gap is formed towards that central axis.

  • Publication number: 20170180587
Abstract: What is disclosed is an apparatus and method for calibrating an optical module of a document scanning device. In one embodiment, imaging sensors of an optical module of the scanning device are used to obtain an image scan of a calibration strip mounted on a surface of a platen on which a sheet to be scanned has been manually placed. The calibration strip has a first vertical line at a first distance from a right edge of the strip, a second vertical line at a second distance from a left edge of the strip, and a sloping horizontal line positioned between the first and second vertical lines. A slope of the horizontal line is non-zero. In a manner more fully disclosed herein, the image scan of the calibration strip is to obtain calibration measurements. The calibration measurements are, in turn, used to calibrate the scan head of the optical module.

  • Patent number: 9656395
Abstract: A system and method for using a robotic arm and a part gripping jaw to tend a CNC machine. A robotic arm picks up a part gripping jaw and used the jaw to grip a part, and moves the part into a vise in the CAN machine. The part gripping jaw has features which the vise engages, and secures the part in the part gripping jaw for processing in the CNC machine. The system and method includes a novel racking system, robotic end of arm tool, jaw grippers and vise system. The jaw grippers that hold the part are moved from the rack system, with the part to be processed, by the robot, to the vise where the vise uses the jaw grippers to secure the part for processing. After the part is processed, the robot removes the part from the vise with the jaw grippers and stores the part back into the rack system using the jaw grippers.

  • Patent number: 9621523
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to sharing secure communication secrets with a network monitoring device (NMD). The NMD may passively monitor network packets communicated between client computers and server computers. If a secure communication session is established between a client computer and a server computer, a key provider may provide the NMD a session key that corresponds to the secure communication session. The NMD may buffer each network packet associated with the secure communication session until the NMD is provided a session key for the secure communication session. The NMD may use the session key to decrypt network packets communicated between the client computer and the server computer. The NMD may then proceed to analyze the secure communication session based on the contents of the decrypted network packets.
