The first wireless communication includes a current geographic location of the user device. The user device maintains a forbidden list identifying unauthorized cellular networks. Based on determining that the user device is approaching a geofence between a first network coverage area of the first cellular network and a second network coverage area of a second cellular network that is identified on the forbidden list, the method includes removing the second cellular network from the forbidden list. With the second cellular network removed from the forbidden list and based on the user device entering the second network coverage area, the method includes transmitting a second wireless communication from the user device via the second cellular network that includes an updated geographic location of the user device.

The telematics system receives weather forecast data from the at least one external data source; monitors the weather forecast data for a predicted weather event; compares the predicted weather event to historical weather events during which power disruptions occurred; determines whether the predicted weather event is indicative of a potential power disruption based upon the comparison; generates a power status report via the telematics system based upon a determination that the predicted weather event may be indicative of the potential power disruption; sends the power status report to the at least one user interface; and commands a charging of the vehicle based on the power status report.

The current object list is compared to the route object list associated with the predetermined route to identify at least one missing object from the current object list when compared to the route object list. A notification is provided to a user of the at least one missing object.

    Abstract: A vehicle system includes a plurality of temperature sensors positioned in the vehicle and a control module in communication with the plurality of temperature sensors. The plurality of temperature sensors are configured to measure surface temperatures of objects in the vehicle. The control module is configured to receive the measured surface temperatures from the plurality of temperature sensors, determine whether any of the measured surface temperatures is greater than a defined threshold, and in response to any of the measured surface temperatures being greater than the defined threshold, transmit an alert signal to a user communication device indicative of the objects in the vehicle having the measured surface temperatures greater than the defined threshold. Other examples vehicle systems and methods for selectively controlling airflow in a vehicle and/or warning users of objects of a vehicle having potentially dangerous surface temperatures are also disclosed.

Methods may determine if a weighted score is greater than a threshold and alerting: an owner of the vehicle tracking device; setting off an audio alert on the vehicle tracking device; or notifying authorities. Methods may detect human movement by detecting steep elevation changes; detecting acceleration data consistent human movement; or detecting movement that is not a road. Methods may determine if the vehicle tracking device is with a different vehicle or building by: detecting the different vehicle's hotspot; detecting the building's Wi-Fi; or detecting GPS movement that matches the different vehicle's GPS movement.

A method of controlling an RVS operation of a vehicle includes a vehicle controller receiving, either directly or indirectly, a request to activate the RVS operation. Responsive to receiving the RVS activation request, wireless signal data is collected to determine wireless signal states of the subject vehicle and of multiple crowd-sourced vehicles proximal to the subject vehicle. Using the host vehicle's and crowd-sourced vehicles' wireless signal states, a signal state heatmap is generated with a spatial mapping of signal state magnitudes as a map overlay. The heatmap visualizes a signal state magnitude in an area surrounding the host vehicle.
