  • Patent number: 7844521
Abstract: A method and system for identifying business managing consumers includes a process for identifying business managing consumers whereby financial transaction data for various consumers is obtained from one or more sources using a computing system implemented financial management system. The consumers' financial transaction data is then analyzed to identify financial transactions typically associated with ownership and/or management of a business, i.e., business management related transactions. If more than a defined threshold number of business management related transactions associated with a given consumer are identified, that consumer is categorized as a business managing consumer. Sellers of business related products and/or service are then given access to the identified business managing consumers for promoting their various business related products and services.

  • Publication number: 20100100402
Abstract: A system and method for price setting based on environmental impact whereby the environmental impact of a product and/or service is determined based on defined parameters. An environmental impact of a given product and/or service is also determined for various levels of consumption of the given product and/or service. An environmental impact goal is then established for the given product and/or service. An environmental impact goal level of consumption of the given product and/or service is then determined that will yield the desired environmental impact goal. An environmental impact goal price-point for the given product and/or service that will yield the environmental impact goal level of consumption that, in turn, will yield the desired environmental impact goal is then determined. The price of the given product or service is then set at the environmental impact goal price-point for the given product and/or service using one or more of various price setting mechanisms.

  • Publication number: 20090112707
Abstract: A system and method for providing relevant coupons at the point of sale includes a process for providing relevant coupons at the point of sale whereby a coupon database is provided with at least a portion of the coupon database, and the coupon data in that portion, being associated with a given user. Electronic data representing one or more coupons, and/or other marketing devices, associated with, and/or offered to, the given user is then provided to the coupon database and stored in the portion of the database associated with the user. A computing system implemented point-of-sale system is then given access to the coupon database and/or the portion of the database associated with the user at the time of a transaction being made through the computing system implemented point-of-sale system.

  • Publication number: 20090037266
Abstract: A method and system for providing relevant coupons includes a process for providing relevant coupons whereby a consumer's financial transaction data is obtained from one or more sources using a computing system implemented financial management system. The consumer is provided one or more financial transaction based coupons based, at least in part, on the consumer's financial transaction data. The financial transaction based coupons are then stored in a financial transaction based coupon database in an account and/or location associated with the consumer. When the consumer is viewing a given website, data about the website being viewed is then used to search the financial transaction based coupon database to attempt to find one or more financial transaction based coupons relevant to the website the consumer is currently viewing.

  • Publication number: 20090024464
Abstract: A method and system for providing consumer defined coupons includes a process for providing consumer defined coupons whereby a consumer proposes/defines the parameters or “terms” of a proposed coupon and/or marketing offer that the consumer feels would compel the consumer to purchase a product and/or service, shop at a defined store, or perform some other defined action. The consumer defined coupon terms are then provided to a potential coupon provider. The potential coupon provider is then provided the opportunity to review the consumer defined coupon terms. The potential coupon provider is then provided the opportunity to accept the consumer defined coupon terms, reject the consumer defined coupon terms, and/or propose alternative coupon terms. If the potential coupon provider accepts the consumer defined coupon terms, a coupon is then created and provided to the consumer.

  • Publication number: 20080228740
Abstract: A system that provides search results for searches of a distributed network of content servers includes a server that receives search request from a given user, wherein the user provides a search parameter; a searchable database having a plurality of web-usage histories stored therein; and a search engine module in communication with the database, the search engine module receives the search parameter and uses the search parameter to search at least a portion of the plurality of web-usage histories stored in the database and generate search results therefore, wherein the server provides the search results to the given user.

  • Publication number: 20080228813
Abstract: A system for providing trusted-referrals includes a database of member-assessments. The member-assessments are related to user-appraisals that are provided by members of a trusted network of users. The system receives a referral-request from a member of the trusted network, and a module creates a trusted-referral using at least a portion of at least one member-assessment. The system provides the trusted-referral to member that requested the trusted-referral.

  • Publication number: 20030054485
Abstract: Isolated nucleotide compositions and sequences are provided for jelly belly (jeb) genes. The jeb nucleic acid compositions find use in identifying homologous or related genes; in producing compositions that modulate the expression or function of its encoded protein, Jeb; for gene therapy; mapping functional regions of the protein; and in studying associated physiological pathways. Jeb is required for visceral mesoderm migration and differentiation. Its transcription is directly regulated by Tin. jeb is required for a signal to be transduced from somatic mesoderm to visceral mesoderm. The protein encoded by jeb is secreted from somatic muscle precursors and taken up by visceral muscle precursors. The expression of jeb in neurons later in embryogenesis is indicative that Jeb signaling plays additional roles in the development of the nervous system.

  • Patent number: 6025193
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided for diagnosing and treating pathological conditions related to a dopamine receptor abnormality. The methods comprise administering to a patient having such a pathological condition a plasmid encoding an oligonucleotide, antisense to one or more RNA molecules encoding one of the several dopamine receptors, thereby selectively controlling expression of one or more dopamine receptor subtypes, and alleviating the pathological conditions related to their expression. The vectors are targeted to specific regions of the brain via complexation with antibody studded liposomes.

  • Patent number: 5981279
Abstract: Constructs encoding calmodulin antisense molecules are disclosed. These constructs may be used to advantage to inhibit proliferation of malignant cells. The invention further comprises monoclonal antibody studded liposomes to facilitate cell-type specific delivery of the antisense calmodulin constructs. To enhance cell-type specific expression of calmodulin antisense sequences, cell-type specific promoters are employed to drive expression of the antisense molecules in targeted tissues.

  • Patent number: 5840708
Abstract: A method and pharmaceutical preparation are provided for diagnosing and treating pathological conditions related to a dopamine receptor abnormality. The method comprises administering to a patient having such a pathological condition an oligonucleotide antisense to one or more RNA molecules encoding one of the several dopamine receptors.
