  • Publication number: 20200263847
Abstract: Communications system for motor vehicles are provided, that comprise a plurality of transmission devices and a plurality of receiver devices where the transmission devices, individually or together, feature several light sources that are able to emit at least light with a first wavelength spectrum and light with a second wavelength spectrum. The transmission devices feature means of modulation that can effect modulation of the light such that information can be transmitted via the light. Receiver devices can capture the emitted light and extract the information from the captured light. The communications system is designed in such a way that the light with the first wavelength spectrum is used for the transmission of information in a first category and the light with the second wavelength spectrum is used for the transmission of information in a second category.

  • Publication number: 20200240605
Abstract: A lighting device for a motor vehicle, in particular a headlamp, comprising at least two, preferably three, light sources, from which light emanates during the operation of the lighting device, the light of each of the light sources differing from that of the other light sources with regard to its wavelength spectrum, comprising modulator, which bring about a modulation of the light emanating from the light sources during the operation of the lighting device, so that information is transmitted by the light, the lighting device having a mixer for mixing the light emanating from the individual light sources, so that white light emerges from the lighting device during the operation of the lighting device.

  • Publication number: 20200224849
Abstract: A lighting apparatus for an automated or partially automated vehicle, having a light module, which contains a light source unit having a number of light sources and an optical unit assigned to the light source unit for generating a light signal, a surroundings sensor unit for detecting road users in surroundings of the vehicle, a control unit for controlling the light module, so that the light module generates the light signal as a function of the road users detected by the surroundings sensor unit and/or a relative position thereof with respect to the vehicle, the light module being positioned in a defined location of the vehicle and being designed in such a way that the light signal may be radiated at different horizontal and/or vertical spatial angles.

  • Patent number: 10451259
Abstract: A headlight featuring a laser light source and a converter for converting a short-wave laser beam generated by the laser light source into white light. The headlight also includes a light-forming element for creating a beam path using the white light of the laser light source, as well as an IR sensor for measuring the IR radiation generated by the converter.

  • Publication number: 20190317319
Abstract: A communication device for a vehicle which can transmit information in the form of light signals to other road users, wherein the communication device has at least one light source from which light emerges when operating the communication device, and controllable light influencer which selectively deflect or reflect or shade at least a portion of the light emanating from the at least one light source such that the at least one portion of the light exits the communication device as a light signal, or wherein the communication device comprises an array of light sources that can selectively generate light that at least partially emerges as a light signal from the communication device.

  • Publication number: 20190184889
Abstract: A method for detecting misadjustments of a headlamp of a vehicle and to a device for this purpose. It is provided that the vehicle is provided with a detector with which at least one light signal of another road user is detected, and wherein the vehicle is equipped with a control unit with which light signal information of the detector is captured and by means of which adjustment information for correcting the misadjustment of the headlamp is output as a function of the captured light signal information.

  • Patent number: 8579480
Abstract: An LED landing light arrangement for an aircraft comprises a plurality of LED light sources (12,14,16) for arrangement on an aircraft (24), primarily on the wing roots (20), on the front edges of the wings (22) and/or on the landing gears (18). The LED light sources (12,14,16) are operative to generate, relative to the central axis of the aircraft (24), a light distribution (10) ahead of the aircraft (24) that is spread substantially in a Y-shaped configuration in an obliquely downward direction. The light distribution (10) comprises two converging lateral regions (34,36) arranged laterally ahead of the aircraft (24), and a central region (40) running from said converging lateral regions (34,36) along an extension of said central axis and oriented in a direction away from the aircraft (24).
