Abstract: Tax data, e.g., Form W2 data, is encoded as a two-dimensional machine readable representation, such as a QR CODE. Certain tax data is encoded as segments of a QR CODE, and a tax form generated by an employer or payroll processing service and provided to an employee or user includes the QR CODE representing certain W-2 or other tax data. An image of the QR CODE is acquired using a camera of a mobile communication device or computer or other image capture device. When using a Smartphone, a tax preparation application executing on the Smartphone decodes the QR CODE image to determine the tax data, and populates fields of an electronic tax return with decoded data, thus allowing a consumer to prepare an electronic tax return using a mobile communication device.

Abstract: Systems, computer-implemented methods and computer program products for directing a consumer to a source offering for sale a specific item previously purchased by the consumer. Electronic receipt data generated for a consumer purchase of a specifically identified item is generated by a merchant transaction processing device, and an electronic representation of a receipt is generated based on that data. The electronic representation identifies the specific item and includes an input element or button that can be selected, clicked on, executed or activated by a consumer to allow the consumer to be directed to a website of a merchant who offers the same item for sale and from which the consumer can buy the same item again.

Abstract: A method for authenticating a user, that includes receiving an account identifier from the user, obtaining a media prompt from an account based on the account identifier, presenting the user with the media prompt and a question prompt, wherein the question prompt references the media prompt, receiving input answering the question prompt, comparing the input with a valid response to determine whether the user is authentic, wherein the valid response requires personal knowledge of the media prompt and the question prompt, and authorizing the user to access a resource when the user is authentic.

Abstract: A method for completing a financial form by a user, including: generating a plurality of panels associated with a plurality of financial events reported by the financial form; obtaining a visual data item associated with the user and a financial event of the plurality of financial events; applying the visual data item to a panel of the plurality of panels, where the panel is associated with the financial event; capturing a financial value associated with the financial event using the panel; populating at least a portion of the financial form based on the financial value; extracting a key from a previously populated financial form associated with the user; and searching a visual data source based on the key, where the visual data item is located in the visual data source.
