  • Patent number: 11095105
Abstract: A power distribution box for housing electrical components configured to retain its shape so as to retain a tight fit and the integrity of a storage space is provided. The power distribution box includes an upper housing assembly. The upper housing assembly is configured to couple with a bottom cover. The bottom cover includes a bottom wall bounding a peripheral edge of a floor so as to define a storage compartment for which electric components are housed. The bottom wall includes an outer wall opposite of an inner wall so as to define an opening there between. A top lateral wall closes off a top of the opening so as to define an open bottom between the inner wall and the outer wall. The top lateral wall provides structural rigidity to the bottom wall so as to prevent the bottom wall from warping.

  • Patent number: 10667413
Abstract: A power distribution box assembly is provided. The power distribution box assembly includes an upper housing assembly having a top cover and a lower cover having an upper substrate and an upper terminal housing. The lower cover including a pair of gaps. A bottom cover includes a lower terminal housing and a pair of towers, each of the pair of towers having a terminal support disposed on a top surface of the corresponding pair of towers, wherein each of the terminal support is registered to a corresponding one of the pair of gaps. A bus bar assembly is configured to direct power to the upper housing assembly and the bottom cover.

  • Patent number: 7066763
Abstract: To reduce the force required to assemble connectors, a junction box assembly includes a junction box housing holding one or more first connectors, a connector assembly holding one or more second connectors that mate with the one or more first connectors, and first and second cam levers rotatably mounted to the connector assembly. The first and second cam levers rotate in opposite directions about a common axis and engage the junction box housing, and may engage a common point, such as a pin, on the junction box housing. A detent system may be provided to hold the first and second cam levers in a pre-staged position in which open ends of the cam grooves of the first and second cam levers are aligned, and/or in a fully assembled position.

  • Patent number: 6570088
Abstract: An improved junction box assembly having a shroud and a junction box. The junction box assembly includes a plurality of tapered alignment tabs which permit the shroud and the junction box to be highly skewed to each other during the initial phases of their assembly. The junction box includes cue members for providing a visual indication that the contacts that extend from the junction box have been engaged in a reliable manner to the contacts in the wire harnesses that are coupled to the shroud. A clip structure is provided to permit an electrical component, such as a terminal fuse, to be loosely coupled to the terminals of the junction box prior to the assembly of the junction box to the shroud. The junction box is configured with a plurality of abutting walls that are located proximate the terminals wherein the abutting walls inhibit relative rotation between the junction box and a terminal connector of the cable.

  • Patent number: 6561822
Abstract: An electrical junction box cover assembly for a motor vehicle includes a mounting cover and a junction box at least partially disposed in the mounting cover. The electrical junction box cover assembly also includes a connector connected to the junction box and having at least one wire extending therefrom out of the mounting cover. The electrical junction box cover assembly includes a top cover connected to the mounting cover with the at least one wire extending therebetween. The electrical junction box cover assembly further includes at least one clip extending from either one of the mounting cover and the junction box past an outer surface of the mounting cover to retain the at least one wire in a predetermined position relative thereto.
