The air filter arrangement includes media comprising corrugated media secured to facing media and forming inlet and outlet flutes secured to one another. Media pack arrangements including such media are described. Also described are filter cartridges including such media packs and air cleaners including the filter cartridges. Advantageous housing seal arrangements having a pinch seal member and forming a trough are described. Methods of assembly and use are also provided. Also, systems of use are described.

Abstract: An air cleaner arrangement is shown. The air cleaner arrangement includes a serviceable filter cartridge comprising strips of media arranged in a stacked configuration. The strips of media each comprise a corrugated sheet secured to a facing sheet. A preferred filter cartridge positioned within the air cleaner arrangement, is depicted.

Abstract: In one aspect a method of forming filter cartridge arrangements for use in air cleaners is provided. The method involves coiling a media pack with a central winding bead and cutting through the winding bead in the coiled media pack to form two media packs. An example filter arrangement is disclosed. In another aspect, a filter cartridge arrangement for use in air cleaners is provided. The filter cartridge arrangement includes a media pack including a plurality of inlet flutes and outlet flutes extending between first and second opposite flow faces and formed from an arrangement of facing sheet secured to corrugated sheet. An example cartridge includes a preform secured to the media pack.

Abstract: A filter cartridge arrangement is provided which includes a media pack comprising Z-filter media, a preform and a housing seal member. Improvements in the preform and seal member are described which include: a single beveled surface of the seal member to facilitate installation; and, an inside region of the seal member having a tip adjacent in inwardly directed lip of the preform, to control flash during molding. A variety of media pack configurations and features are described.

Abstract: A raincap precleaner is provided according to the present invention. The raincap precleaner includes a sleeve, a cover, and a precleaner assembly. The sleeve is constructed for mounting on an air intake stack and has an air intake flow region for delivering intake air to the air intake stack. The cover includes a top portion having an annular circumference and a depending flange portion extending from the annular circumference of the top portion. The cover is arranged relative to the sleeve to provide a precleaner area and a precleaned air chamber. The precleaner assembly is provided extending around a periphery of the sleeve and in the precleaner area so that environmental air flows through the precleaner assembly and into the precleaned air chamber, and from the precleaned air chamber into the air intake flow region. The precleaner assembly comprises a plurality of inertial separators. A method for precleaning air and a motor vehicle are provided.

The media pack generally comprises a coiled arrangement of facing sheet secured to corrugated sheet. The preform includes a projection surrounding the media pack; the projection surrounding the media pack including a portion directed radially away from the media pack. The molded-in-place region of seal material defines: a radially outwardly directed surface defining a housing radial seal; and, has a portion with the projection of the preform that is directed radially away from the media pack embedded therein.

Abstract: A single facer media is provided according to the invention. The single facer media includes a fluted sheet attached to a facing sheet and having a first end and a second end so that when the single facer media is formed into a media pack, the first end or the second end forms a media pack first face, and the other of the first end or the second end forms a media pack second face. Adhesive is provided between the fluted sheet and the facing sheet at the first end or the second end, and wherein the fluted sheet and the facing sheet are pushed together and adhered together at the location of the adhesive to provide a seal between the fluted sheet and the facing sheet. At least 25% of the flutes of the fluted sheet comprise at least one ridge extending along at least 50% of the flute length between adjacent peaks. Filtration media packs, filter elements, and methods for forming a single facer media are provided.
