Abstract: A mobile device or a method performed by a mobile device for protecting user privacies by swapping IMEI values. The mobile device accesses an IMEI value stored by and corresponding to the mobile device, selects a managed IMEI value from a pool of candidate IMEI values, and replaces the IMEI value with the managed IMEI value. In response to receiving an IMEI request from a wireless entity, the mobile device provides the managed IMEI value to the wireless entity. In response to receiving an IMEI request from an authentication service, the mobile device provides the IMEI value corresponding to the mobile device to the authentication service.

Abstract: A distributed database management system comprises a plurality of peers and maintains data on behalf of a plurality of clients. Upon receiving a request to access data, the distributed database management system identifies, from among the plurality of peers, a set of peers associated with the client issuing the request. The distributed database management system provides, to the client, a list of the set of identified peers. Access to data maintained by the distributed database system is based, at least in part, on connections between the client and the set of identified peers.

Abstract: A labeling device includes a printer configured to print labels each having a barcode on a print side of the label opposite an adhesive side of the label. The printer is also configured to direct each printed label in a direction of travel. The device includes a label applicator located downstream of the printer with respect to the direction of travel. The device also includes a barcode scanner that is located downstream of the printer with respect to the direction of travel and is configured to scan the barcode of each label before the label applicator presses the label against the package.
