  • Publication number: 20230227643
Abstract: A process for increasing the chemical resistance of a polymeric composition is provided. The method includes a step of blending: a) the (meth)acrylic polymer AP1 and b) a copolymer CP1. The copolymer CP1 includes at least 41 wt % of vinyl aromatic monomer units by weight of the copolymer CPI. The polymeric composition includes at least 5 wt % of the copolymer CP1, by weight of the polymeric composition. A chemical resistance of the polymeric composition is better than a chemical resistance of the (meth)acrylic polymer AP1 without CP1. Chemical resistance is measured by a time to crack at 120° C. when subjected to an outer radius bending strain of 75% and wetted with a cloth soaked in isopropanol 99%.

  • Publication number: 20210380796
Abstract: A polymer composition suitable for injection moulding comprising particles and colorant, its method of preparation and its use The present invention relates to a polymeric composition suitable for injection molding comprising polymeric particles and a colorant. In particular the present invention relates to a polymeric (meth)acrylic composition comprising polymeric particles and a mixture of colorants suitable for injection moulded compounds with high gloss. The present invention concerns also the use of such a polymeric composition or polymeric (meth)acrylic composition comprising polymeric particles and a mixture of colorants in lightning applications and in injection molding. The present invention concerns also a process for making a polymeric composition or (meth)acrylic composition comprising polymeric particles and a mixture of colorants suitable for injection moulded compounds with high gloss surface.

  • Publication number: 20190248999
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymeric composition comprising a (meth) acrylic polymer and a copolymer comprising at least 41% wt of a vinyl aromatic monomer. In particular the present invention relates to a polymeric (meth) acrylic composition comprising a (meth) acrylic polymer. The present invention concerns also the use of such a polymeric (meth) acrylic composition comprising a meth acrylic polymer and a copolymer comprising at least 41% wt of a vinyl aromatic monomer, (meth) acrylic acid ester monomer and dicarboxylic acid anhydride monomer for increasing the chemical resistance. The present invention concerns also an object comprising or made of such a meth) acrylic composition comprising a (meth) acrylic polymer and a copolymer comprising at least 41% wt of a vinyl aromatic monomer, (meth) acrylic acid ester monomer and dicarboxylic acid anhydride monomer with increasing the chemical resistance.

  • Patent number: 9914804
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for synthesising a block copolymer alloy including at least one rigid polyamide block PA, including the steps of: a) producing said block copolymer; b) adding, during step a) and to at least a portion of said block copolymer, 0.1 to 30 wt % of at least one organic salt in the molten state relative to the total weight of the alloy, so that the alloy thus obtained has improved antistatic properties and identical mechanical properties when compared to the same polymer produced without adding an organic salt. The invention also relates to a block copolymer alloy having improved antistatic properties and obtained by said method, to the use thereof in a polymer matrix, and to a composition containing same.
