Abstract: The invention is related to a golf club shaft with improved distribution of flexibility. It includes a tubular section whose flexional rigidity evolves according to the length and has several portions, including a rigid upper portion extending from the upper end of the shaft having the largest diameter, having a length (L1) at least equal to 200 mm and whose flexional rigidity is at least equal to 50 N.multidot.m.sup.2 ; a central portion joined to the other end of upper portion having a length (L2); a lower portion joined to central portion, having a length (L3) and extending to the lower end adapted to receive the club head; the central portion being constituted of a flexible zone of a length between 100 and 300 mm of a remaining zone having a flexional rigidity greater or equal to 50 N.multidot.m.sup.2.

Abstract: A golf club and methods of assembling and disassembling the shaft and head. The golf club includes a shaft and a head affixed to one another by having a male portion embedded in a female portion, or embedding hole, the two being made of a composite material or plastic, and a heat-conductive intermediate ring is located between the internal peripheral surface of the female portion and the external peripheral surface of the male portion and projecting outwardly from the embedding hole. The shaft is removed by heating outwardly projecting portion of the intermediate ring to soften the adhesive that had secured the shaft to the head.

Abstract: A golf club head including an outside lower portion intended to rest on the ground, constituting the sole, a substantially plane front portion constituting the impact surface, and a rear portion constituting the body, wherein the club head includes an internal cavity limited at least partially by the walls of a steel shell in the lower and rear portion, and that at least the impact surface is a fiber-based composite material of which the modulus of the elasticity is greater than or equal 230 GPa.

Abstract: Golf club head comprising an imaginary line formed by the intersection of the hitting surface (3) with a plane (P) passing through the center of the surface (O) and perpendicular, first, to the hitting plane (T) and second, to the plane (Q) tangent to the hitting surface (3) in the center of the surface (O), this imaginary line (L) being constituted by a series of portions of arcs of circles. The imaginary line is formed by two half-lines (L1, L2) adjacent to the center of the surface (O) and mutually asymmetrical, the number of portions is at least three, and the values of the radii of the arcs of circles are different from one adjacent portion to the next.

Abstract: A golf club head comprising a body (1) and a face insert (2) positioned in a recess (4) provided on the front part of the body, the insert being attached in the recess by a glue layer (5) interposed between the inner face (20) of the insert and the bottom (40) of the recess. The inner face (20) and the bottom are spread apart one from the other and separated by one or more abutments (60, 61, 62) so as to create a stable support for the insert (2) in the recess (4) and to form a substantially-uniform thickness of glue (e) between the inner face (20) and the bottom (40) of the recess.

Abstract: Golf club head comprising a shell extended laterally by a neck, said shell being constituted by a series of metal plates forming an interior cavity, whose front plate incorporates a support surface to which a hitting plate made of a plastic or composite material is attached. The support face of the front plate is a convex surface extending forward, and the hitting plate associated with it is such that its rear plate, which is supported on the support face, has a matching shape, while the hitting surface is a convex surface extending forward.

Abstract: A device for selectively damping golf club vibrations by controlling their frequencies through optimal positioning at the point of maximum deformation energy for the vibration modes excited after impact. The device may be located at either or both of upper and lower intermediate sections of the club shaft, and is constituted by at least one layer of rigid material joined to the shaft surface by an intermediate layer of resilient material.
