  • Patent number: 4315387
Abstract: A ground anchor stake device characterized by a novel combination of ground-penetrating angular spike means and ground-penetrating arcuate tine means. The spike means and the tine means are movably interconnected in such manner that the spike means may be first pushed into the ground at an acute angle to the ground surface, and the arcuate tine means then pushed into the ground in a circular arcuate path to the ground surface. The ends of the spike means and the ends of the tine means, being inserted into the ground from opposite direction toward each other, encompass a mass of ground between them to securely anchor the stake device in the ground. Removal of the device from the ground is by first lifting the arcuate tine means from the ground and then lifting the angular spike means from the ground.

  • Patent number: 4309797
Abstract: A coupler for animal collars characterized by a novel combination of a releasable locking member in the form of a strip of metal which conveniently functions as a name plate. This strip is adapted to receive a pair of post members provided on a channel-like base member which in turn receives respective ends of the collar which are held on the posts until the strip member is removed. One of the posts includes a stop means and the other post is a threaded member adapted to receive a complementary threaded member disposed through spaced holes in the locking strip to effectively couple the ends of the collar together. Merely removing the threaded member from the threaded post permits quick removal of the strip from both posts.

  • Patent number: 4174553
Abstract: A coupler for animal collars characterized by a novel combination of a releasable locking member biased in a normally closed position which is in the form of a curved resilient strip. This strip is adapted to receive a pair of post members provided on a channel-like base member which in turn receives respective ends of the collar which are held on the posts until the strip member is removed. The strip member may be removed by depressing the center portion which elongates the strip and permits its removal from the posts and their flanged top.

  • Patent number: 4144843
Abstract: A self-locking anchor stake to which an animal may be tethered, comprising a first member having a tethering or hitching ring or pin thereon, a second stake member attached to the first member and adapted for driving into the earth to position the first member, and a pair of third members hingedly attached to the first member and having stake portions, each describing an arc of a circle with its center at the hinge connection of the third member to the first member. The second member is driven into the ground. The stake portion of each third member is then driven into the ground and crosses the plane of the second member to grip the earth between the second member and the stake portion of each third member and to lock the anchor stake firmly in position in the earth.
