Abstract: Methods, computer systems, computer-storage media, and graphical user interfaces are provided for facilitating generation and utilization of group folders, according to embodiments of the present technology. In embodiments, an indication to merge a first folder associated with a first entity with a second folder associated with a second entity is received. Based on the indication to merge, a group folder associated with the first entity and the second entity is generated. A representation of the group folder is provided for presentation via a navigation pane of the messaging application. A selection of the representation of the group folder can cause execution of a search query in association with an index of messages to obtain messages associated with the first entity and/or the second entity.

Abstract: Automatic identification of experts and areas of expertise in an organization is provided. An analysis processing engine retrieves data from various data repositories, preprocesses the data, and employs algorithms for recognition of words and phrases from which a top number of phrases are selected as areas of expertise. The analysis processing engine stores the selected areas of expertise in a graph structure. Once one or more areas of expertise are identified and stored in the graph structure, the analysis processing engine queries the graph structure for identification and ranking of experts on the one or more areas of expertise. Bidirectional graph edges are added between the areas of expertise nodes and the corresponding experts of the areas of expertise such that both targeted and exploratory queries are enabled.

Abstract: Relevant files are determined for a user upon detecting a user action such as save, load, open, view, share, or comparable ones associated with a file. The relevancy may be determined through one or more queries based on, a number of criteria, where the queries are executed on local or remote data stores related to the user. For example, files on the local computing device of the user, files in an enterprise network associated with the user, files on a social network subscribed by the user may be evaluated for various relevancy criteria. Files determined to be relevant may be prioritized, ordered, and/or grouped for suggestion to the user and presented through a user interface of an application performing the detected action.

Abstract: An activity stream for an individual or group of individuals across multiple workloads comprising activity data may be provided. Activity data may include various types of data/information received from a variety of information sources. Received activity data may be stored, and an activity stream for an individual or group of individuals may be generated. A timeline view may be generated for each activity stream. Upon request, the timeline view for a given individual or group of individuals (grouped according to any desired grouping) may be presented in a user interface to allow a requesting user to view activity data/information for the given individual or group of individuals.
