  • Publication number: 20240040649
Abstract: An advertising algorithm is disclosed which operates in an Implantable Medical Device (IMD) to adjust an interval at which the IMD will transmit advertising data packets to an external device able to connect with the IMD. When a communication session between the IMD and an external device is terminated, the advertising algorithm will issue advertising data packets at a higher rate for a set duration. This will allow the external device to connect more quickly with the IMD in a next communication session. After the set duration, when it may be assumed that the external device is less likely to connect with the IMD, the algorithm reduces that rate at which advertising data packets are issued, which saves power in the IMD.

  • Publication number: 20220141663
Abstract: An external device for wireless communication with an implantable medical device can include a memory having stored thereon instructions for a first application and authentication credentials specific to the first application; and a processor configured for transmitting the authentication credentials specific to the first application to an implantable medical device to authorize access to the implantable medical device by the first application.

  • Publication number: 20140122120
Abstract: In one example, prior to device interrogation, identifier data is received by the external system from the implanted device. Based on the identifier data, the external system retrieves a digital photograph representative of the particular patient in which the device is implanted. The system displays the retrieved image to the clinician to allow visual verification that data received corresponds to the particular patient whose device is to be interrogated.
