    Abstract: A control circuit for automatically counterbalancing the moving components of a mechanical power press. The counterbalance circuit is responsive to the current drawn by the press motor to regulate air pressure in a cylinder attached to the press ram. On the press downstroke, air pressure in the cylinder is decreased only if the press is over counterbalanced and on the press upstroke, air pressure in the cylinder is increased only if the press is under counterbalanced.
