  • Patent number: 5157882
Abstract: A pole support system for a carport and the like includes an anchor member for the carport having an earth piercing bottom end for being pounded into the ground with a base ring positioned on the surface of the hard top and a spacer ring interposed between the base disc and stop collar at the top end of the anchor. A pole support has the second stop collar above its first lower end which telescopically engages the open top end of the anchor member. The upper end of the pole support has two spaced parallel flanges which are secured to a saddle member that is affixed to a beam at a variety of adjusted pivoted positions. Alternatively the top of the pole support can be mounted to two support plates which are horizontally disposed and can be adjusted along two horizontal axes and secured to each other at the desired position.

  • Patent number: 5117920
Abstract: A pole driver 10 has a platform 12 on wheels 14 and 16 with leveling lift jacks 18 to assure horizontal orientation of the platform. A hammer drive assembly 24 is pivotally mounted on the platform 12 between a horizontal travel position and a vertical operating position. The hammer drive assembly includes a channel guide 34 and slide rail 36 with a weight 78 attached at a bottom end thereof. An operating handle 46 is mounted on the bottom section of the channel guide 34. A pair of brackets 66 are mounted under the slide rail assembly 24 to vertically orient a pole 74 under the weight 78 to be pounded into the soil by the slide rail 36 and weight 78.

  • Patent number: 4198797
Abstract: A method and fixture for lateral and longitudinal positioning of mobile home or modular housing units on the foundation site is disclosed, particularly related to positioning more than one module sometimes referred to as double wide or other structural units, such as modular subunits with respect to each other incidental to assembly operations. The method includes the procedure of initially installing one of the double wide or other structural unit on a foundation including a plurality of stanchions, positioning a second structural unit adjacent the position of the first structural unit with a clearance space therebetween for carrying out steps preparatory to joining of the units, the second unit being positioned on a series of temporary cross beams supported on the foundation stanchions and engaging the structural units underframe members.

  • Patent number: 4125975
Abstract: An arrangement is described for providing a foundation on grade support for manufactured housing such as mobile homes which provides adequate support to resist overturning wind forces, as well as to prevent vertical or lateral shifting of the mobile home, due to earth movements resulting from mud or freeze-thaw induced shifting of the supporting soil. The foundation arrangement includes a plurality of telescoping stanchions which are adapted to be raised in order to be connected to the underframe and lowered to a final position.

  • Patent number: 4007568
Abstract: A foundation for securely retaining a factory built structure, such as a mobile home, modular building, or the like, having an underframe including a pair of steel beams, to a land site. The foundation includes a concrete pad with a pair of recesses for containing the axles attached to the underside of the building frame. The pad has cylindrical concrete piers extending through its surface at spaced intervals forming two lines spaced at the same distance as the beams of the underframe. Central cylindrical cavities are formed in each of the piers and are adapted to receive cylinders which extend downwardly from the underside of the frame beams. The undersides of the beams rest on the top surfaces of the piers and downturned flanges attached to the frame beams surround the sides of the piers and restrain the structure against lateral movement.
