  • Publication number: 20060112645
Abstract: According to the invention, in order to vary the pressure exerted by this seal on the door or window and on the related frame, in order to thereby reduce the transmission of low-frequency chassis noises into the interior of the car, the tubular portion (8) of this seal has at least one wall whose thickness varies along the length of the seal.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: June 1, 2006
Applicant: Metzeler Automotive Profile Systems Transieres
    Inventor: Bernard Dron
  • Patent number: 6948719
Abstract: The invention concerns a sealing extruded section designed to be mounted on a projecting part. Said extruded section comprises: two elastomer or plastomer shells (1, 2), including each a wing (1a, 2a) and an adjacent part (1b, 2b) forming a portion of the section base, said two shells being separated from each other by an opening (3) arranged through the section base and extending longitudinally along the median part thereof; a flexible material layer (7) inextensible or hardly extensible, applied inside the two shells (1, 2) so as to secure the two wings (1a, 2a) and the adjacent parts (1b, 2b) to the section base; a wedging shim (4) with cross-section substantially identical to that of the opening (3) separating the shells (1, 2), wherein it is forced in engagement, the cross-section of the opening (3) being such that, when the wedge (4) is fixed, it brings about a tilting movement of said shells relative to each other, thereby bringing closer together the free ends of the two wings of the section.

  • Patent number: 6922945
Abstract: A seal with a first profiled section, a second profiled section (5) housed inside a third profiled section made of an elastically deformable flexible material, the third profile section forming by itself or with the part of the first and/or the second profiled section a sealed tubular member connected to a source of fluid under pressure and adapted under the action of the fluid, to be urged into contact with the inner face of the second profiled section (5), to improve the sealing and soundproof properties of the seal when the vehicle moves at a high speed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 2001
Date of Patent: August 2, 2005
    Assignee: BTR Sealing Systems France
    Inventor: Bernard Dron
  • Publication number: 20050155293
Abstract: This seal comprises at least one flexible lip (3) designed to be in contact with the sliding window (4) of an automobile via a surface coated with a film (5) of a hard material with a low friction coefficient, characterized in that a layer of a cellular plastomer or cellular elastomer is inserted between the lip and the hard material with a low friction coefficient so as to separate them virtually completely.

    Publication date: July 21, 2005
    Inventor: Bernard Dron
  • Patent number: 6677020
Abstract: The invention concerns a joint wherein inside the second extruded profile (5) and along part at least of the length thereof is housed a third extruded profile (7), with U-shaped cross-section, of reduced dimensions compared to those of the second extruded profile (5) and whereof the ends of the branches are also adjacent to the same wing or at the base of the first extruded profile (1), said third extruded profile (7) being likewise made of an elastically deformable material and being designed to counter local resistance to compressive effort exerted by the opening, while reinforcing sealing and soundproof conditions at the opening frame.
