  • Patent number: 11061370
Abstract: Viewing systems are provided which include a screen and an optical collimation device including two holographic optical elements working by reflection, the first holographic optical element being closer to the screen, the second holographic optical element being closer to an observer. In the system, the screen displays a first object at a first wavelength and a second object at a second wavelength. Each holographic optical element includes two holographic treatments, each treatment being able to reflect one of the two wavelengths and to transmit the other wavelength. The first holographic element and the second holographic element are arranged such that the image of the first object forms at a first distance from the screen and that the image of the second object forms at a second distance from the screen, different from the first distance.

  • Patent number: 8670921
Abstract: A device for aiding the following of an airport route by an aircraft includes: an onboard system of optical sensors; means providing the current position of the aircraft; a database having topological information for the airport; a recognition system providing, on the basis of the video images arising from the system of optical sensors, data characteristics of the airport route portion, making it possible to identify a simple primitive representative of the route portion followed; and a processing computer. The processing computer extracts, from the database, a succession of simple geometric shapes representing the airport route and of the same nature as the primitives arising from the recognition system, compares the succession of shapes with the primitives, and validates or invalidates the route followed by the aircraft as a function of the result of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 8125352
Abstract: The invention pertains to optoelectronic devices for aiding the guidance and taxiing of aircraft, comprising a so-called head-up collimator allowing the presentation of information in the pilot's visual field. It applies notably to large-size civil aircraft of the Boeing 747 or Airbus A380 type. The optoelectronic device comprises means for calculating a deviation factor for the actual trajectory of said aircraft relative to a theoretical trajectory on said traffic way, means for generating symbols and at least one head-up collimator comprising means for displaying and superimposing said symbols on the outside landscape. The deviation factor is calculated on the basis of an angle (PÂ?G) and that the means for generating symbols generate a symbol representing said deviation factor, so as to be superimposed on said traffic way.

  • Publication number: 20110246003
Abstract: The invention relates to a monitoring system dedicated to the landing of an aircraft including means of receiving navigation data, means of receiving a plurality of landing area monitoring information, and display means representing, by various symbols, the landing area and the monitoring information, including means of determining a plurality of successive approach phases constituting the landing procedure and of signalling the current approach phase, means of calculating a plurality of cartographic scale factors of the landing area, and means of selecting monitoring information to be displayed for each approach phase. The display means represent the landing area according to a changing cartographic scale factor and the selected monitoring information by symbols that also change, the cartographic scale factor and the symbols changing automatically according to the current approach phase.

  • Patent number: 8024078
Abstract: A system on an aircraft used during taxiing or air/ground and ground/air transitions. The system groups together a set of devices for mapping the airport zone presenting the crew with a set of elements catalogued in a database and/or updated as a function of information received dynamically. The system group has control or monitoring of compliance with regulations and other mobile craft, consolidating the airport topological information, the ground control instructions and the applicable operational rules. The system groups have routing, that is preparation of the taxiing phase during an arrival or preparation for takeoff, by depicting the interactions with the ground control for receiving the taxiing instructions, and from the aircraft to the ground control to inform the same of the aircraft capabilities. The system groups have guidance in the form of instructions presented to the crew, and of automatic speed management capabilities, for managing emergency situations.

  • Patent number: 7844392
Abstract: The field of the invention is that of optoelectronic taxi-assistance devices for aircraft, including a head-up display providing for the presentation of information in the pilot's field of vision. The invention applies in particular to large civil aircraft of the Boeing 747 or Airbus A380 type. The object of the invention is to propose the displaying of safety-related symbologies in the head-up display, providing for substantially improving aircraft safety and maneuverability during the taxiing phase. These symbologies relate substantially to the position of the aircraft on the taxiway and to the turning and stop maneuvers to be performed by the pilot. Said symbologies are particularly useful in poor visibility conditions.

  • Publication number: 20080191903
Abstract: The field of the invention is that of optoelectronic taxiing-aid devices for aircraft, comprising a so-called head-up display enabling information to be presented in the visual field of the pilot. It applies more particularly to large civilian aircraft of the Boeing 747 or Airbus A380 type. The purpose of the invention is to present, in the display, a set of ergonomic symbols for informing the pilot of the path to be followed in a turn and the exact situation of his vehicle on the taxiway, enabling him to taxi in total safety, including in bad weather conditions. These symbols comprise lateral safety marks, represented by posts of variable height, representing the limit of the taxiway, positioned at regular intervals and located either side of the center line of the taxiway and equidistant from the latter. When the taxiing conditions are such that these posts are no longer visible in the display, a view from above of the situation of the aircraft on the taxiway is displayed.
