Abstract: Systems and methods for integrated management and scheduling of events associated with both physical and digital mail are provided. A print stream processor utilizes recipient preferences to determine that a mail piece should be delivered by physical mail. The server then processes the mail piece print stream to extract time sensitive data such as a payment amount and due date. The server utilizes the identity of the physical mail piece recipient and the time sensitive data to provide a scheduling message to the recipient. Here, the scheduling message includes injecting a calendar entry to a centralized mail management system having an account for the recipient. Additionally, reminder messages are provided to the recipient based upon recipient and/or sender preferences. Similarly, entries relating to physical coupons or other offers sent to the recipient are placed on the recipient's calendar including offer deadline entries.

Abstract: Systems and methods for efficient and timely electronic new user authentication in a digital mailbox system using a sliding scale approach to include one or more identity authentication systems as appropriate for system security needs are provided. The system first obtains new user name and address data. Because the address is an important data point, the system first verifies the address before expending the resources of an identity data search. If the address is valid, the system calls an identity verification system and provides an identity quiz to the user based upon additional identity verification data. If the user passes the quiz, then a new account is setup and any other systems users having an account at that address are notified.

In one configuration the system obtains a digital mail piece intended for a particular digital mailbox. The system determines user opt-in preferences for the digital mail piece and obtains mailer matching criteria data associated with the digital mail piece. The system then delivers the digital mail piece to the digital mailbox only if consistent with the opt-in preferences and the matching criteria data.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing secure digital mail document storage, retrieval and use in a cloud computing environment, such as by advantageously configuring a hybrid cloud computing environment are described. In one, a privately hosted data processing system includes a private key and a PKI decryption subsystem, and a publicly hosted data processing system includes a symmetric key decryption subsystem, wherein digital documents are encrypted by a corresponding individual symmetric key and each of the symmetric keys is encrypted by a public key associated with the private key. In another configuration, document decryption is handled differently depending upon the type of client making the request.

Abstract: A method for providing intended recipients with the status of documents created by a large scale document production and management processes. The production and management process may be comprised of a plurality of different stages including: utilizing a print stream to generate the documents, printing documents on a printer in accordance with the print stream, and forming completed mail pieces on an inserter from the printed documents in accordance with mail piece creation data files. A monitoring system receives information regarding the status of individual documents within these production and management process stages. The system answers a status request from the document recipient. The recipient provided an identification number corresponding to one or more mail pieces.
