  • Publication number: 20040145204
Abstract: A slidable room assembly comprises a vehicle body having an opening formed in an exterior wall, and a reciprocable slideout unit or compartment disposed in the opening and slidable between a retracted position and an extended position. Sliding movement of the slideout unit is controlled by means of a drive mechanism that includes two sets of cabling. The drive mechanism includes a frame installed about the opening in the vehicle body. The frame includes a header, a sill and two pre-assembled jambs. The pre-assembled jambs have a plurality of pulleys with a plurality of cables pre-installed inside the jambs around the pulleys. One end of the cables, attached to the slidable room, is pre-strung through a cable extension hole. The other end of the cables extends out an end of the jamb.

  • Patent number: 6623066
Abstract: A slidable room assembly comprises a vehicle body having an opening formed in an exterior wall, and a reciprocable slideout unit or compartment disposed in the opening and slidable between a retracted position and an extended position. Sliding movement of the slideout unit is controlled by a drive mechanism that includes a pair of cables. A plurality of sheaves, rotatably mounted on the vehicle body about the opening, define a path for the cable or cables. The drive cables have a double Y-shape whereby each cable has four ends with an end being connected to each corner of the slideout unit. Sliding movement of the slideout unit 24 may be either motor driven or manually powered.

  • Publication number: 20030160427
Abstract: A reinforcing bracket for a trailer frame comprises a first side that bolts onto one frame member of a trailer frame, a second side that bolts onto a second member of a trailer frame, and a third side that bolts onto a flange of one or both members. Both the first side and second side comprise a plurality of dimples that nest into dimples in the trailer frame members. Each dimple has an aperture therein that corresponds to an aperture in the frame members, enabling the bracket to be bolted to the frame members. The third side of the bracket is approximately ninety degrees to both the first and second sides, and includes at least one aperture that corresponds to an aperture in a flange of one or both of the frame members.

  • Publication number: 20020063422
Abstract: A bolt-together trailer frame that can have either a torsion axle or a sprung axle attached thereto without modification of the trailer frame side members. The side frame of the trailer includes at least one axle cut-out with an axle cut-out reinforcement plate attached about the cut-out. A torsion axle is welded to the axle cut-out reinforcement plates. A sprung axle is attached to the trailer frame with a plurality of spring hangers to which leaf springs are connected. The axle of the sprung axle is then attached to the spring hangers.

  • Patent number: 6102438
Abstract: A quick-to-the-ground integrated vehicle leveling and stabilizing apparatus which may be easily and accurately connected to the underside of a vehicle and which may be extended to an operative position and retracted to a storage position with a minimum of operator time and effort. The components of the present invention are self-aligning so that upon being extended to the operative position, the components are automatically properly positioned for the subsequent leveling and stabilizing operations. The apparatus has integral components that need not be separated from the leveling and stabilizing apparatus itself when the apparatus is retracted to a storage position. Furthermore, the apparatus has increased strength and durability relative to known devices.

  • Patent number: 5975497
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi piece trunnion. More specifically, this invention relates to a multi piece trunnion for use in scissor-type jacks. The multi piece trunnion allows the use of a trunnion segment with an enlarged center section without a corresponding increase in the size of the channel members of the jack. The enlarged trunnion segment increases the load capacity if the scissor jack without a significant size or weight increase.

  • Patent number: 5570924
Abstract: A scissors actuated slide-out apparatus including a slidably expandable and retractable slide-out frame cooperating with a parent RV main frame to form a drive compartment into which is mounted a powered scissors drive mechanism including a plurality of scissors linkages pivotally joined with a drive screw interposed between opposing pivots such that rotation of the screw expands or retracts the scissors thereby expanding or retracting the slide-out. The drive mechanisms' extruded nature enables relatively simple installation and removal as well as cost efficient maintenance thereof.

  • Patent number: 5501428
Abstract: An improved stabilizer jack for securement to the underside of a recreational vehicle. The jack includes a channel frame formed with downwardly and inwardly turned sidewalls terminating in spaced apart retaining edges forming a track. A hanger bracket is mounted to the frame having a pair of laterally opposite projecting axle tabs and a screw is rotatably mounted to the bracket and restrained against longitudinal movement. A trunnion plate is carried in the track and includes a threaded bore for engaging the screw. A support leg projects downwardly and outwardly from the track and has one end thereof pivotally carried from the trunnion plate, the medial portion of the support leg being pivotally connected to one end of a strut. The opposite end of the strut is formed with upwardly turned retainer flanges spaced laterally apart, the flanges each including an axle tab bore.
