Abstract: A coulter disc assembly is pulled by a tractor or other motorized vehicle to create a trench in the ground into which seeds are dispensed. This mounting arrangement of the present invention allows a farmer to inject agricultural additives, such as either liquid or dry fertilizer, into the ground so as to come into contact with the seed immediately after the trench is created and before it is covered over. The mounting arrangement consists of an elastomeric mounting block adapted to connect to a coulter disc frame. A rigid guide rod extends from the mounting block downwardly toward the ground. One end of a tube is connected to a supply of agricultural additives and the other end to the lower end of the guide rod. As the coulter disc passes through the ground to create a trench, the lower end of the guide rod is carried in the trench. As the guide rod engages the side walls of the trench, the rubber mounting block allows the guide rod to pivot rearwardly in the direction opposite the travel of the disc.

Abstract: A portable fireplace for burning combustible materials including a base member defining a fire chamber adapted to receive and contain the materials to be burned. One or more screen members are adapted to extend upwardly from the base member and to protect against burning embers being expelled from the fireplace. A cover member is supported above the screen members and is removable to provide access to the fire chamber when desired. A support structure is associated with the base member to support the base member at a sufficient height above a support surface to prevent the burning or scorching of the support surface. One or more of the screen members is selectively removable to provide access to the fire for enhanced viewing or cooking.

Abstract: The invention relates to a seed planter having furrow forming means in association with a pair of furrow closing wheels each of which is independently mounted relative to the suspension of the other so that each spring biased suspension arm is pivotable to enable each closing wheel to be raised, or lowered, independently of the other wheel in response to ground conditions encountered in the operation of the planter. The closing wheel mounting also includes means for adjustment of each wheel whereby the angle of attack of each wheel may be varied and importantly enable adjustment of the wheel spacing so that the distance between the wheels can be adjusted and enabling the wheels to be set to run straight with the direction of travel of the planter and at any desired seed planting depth.

Abstract: A multiple rotary hoe including individual hoe wheels mounted in front and rear rows with an individual support arm for each wheel and all of the support arms having a common axis mounted on a single pivot shaft for independent pivoting action in response to upward and downward movements of the hoe wheels with such movements counteracted by spring means exerting downward pressure on each support arm independently of all of the remaining arms.
