  • Publication number: 20070052640
Abstract: A method and system for compensating for the response characteristics of a display using field sequential addressing and pre-processing. Utilizing a display with multiple backlights of various colors, each pixel of the display can be represented with a single LCD element. By examining the changes in the intensity of the fields (e.g., red, green and blue) on a pixel-by-pixel basis for respective fields as the frames change, and before the pixels are displayed, the signal used to drive the LCD element can be compensated to adjust for display properties (e.g., the slowness of a display that might otherwise cause artifacts).

  • Patent number: 6193901
Abstract: Masked tin oxide films are etched with an etchant composed of hydrochloric acid and a penetration control agent. The exposed metal oxide film is reduced to metallic tin by the action of active hydrogen (H0) produced in the reaction of zinc with acid, and etching stops when the metallic tin becomes impenetrable to H0.

  • Patent number: 6174452
Abstract: Masked tin oxide films are etched with an etchant composed of zinc metal, HCl, and a penetration control agent. The exposed metal oxide film is reduced to metallic tin by the action of active hydrogen (Ho) produced in the reaction of zinc with acid, and etching stops when the metallic tin becomes impenetrable to Ho.

  • Patent number: 6121961
Abstract: An improved technique for driving matrix displays, and in particular, passive matrix displays including row and column configurations of electro-optical display elements (e.g., liquid crystal, LED, plasma, and Electroluminescent). By storing and analyzing illumination information about display elements prior to excitation, a matrix display is more effectively driven. Also, by using the method, the selection ratio in LCD displays is improved.

  • Patent number: 5986391
Abstract: The present invention provides for transparent electrodes useful in display devices. The transparent electrodes are deposited on a substrate and formed with one or more apertures on their top surface that permit a second electrode, formed on the transparent electrode, to dip down and make contact with the substrate. The second electrode is made of an opaque conductive material that lowers the electrical resistance of the transparent electrode.

  • Patent number: 5976396
Abstract: Method for etching metal oxide films, especially tin oxide on a substrate in which a metal (Zn) is deposited on said film and etching is performed by a mixture of an acid, such as hydrochloric acid (HCl) and a metal dissolution agent, such as ferric chloride. The hydrochloric acid reacts with the zinc to produce active hydrogen which reduces the tin oxide to tin, which in turn is etched with the hydrochloric acid.

  • Patent number: 5959816
Abstract: A voltage regulator circuit includes a circuit input and a circuit output for coupling to a load. A circuit interrupt element is coupled between the input and the load for breaking the circuit between the input and the load. A sensing circuit coupled to the output senses when a signal applied to the load exceeds a defined limit. A trigger circuit coupled to the sensing circuit causes the circuit interrupt element to trip when the sensing circuit senses a signal which exceeds the defined limit.
