Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a user's health/wellness condition. Gait-based biometric data from a user is gathered using a sensor module. The biometric data is transmitted to a data processing module that compares characteristics of the biometric data with previously obtained baseline biometric data from the same user. Differences between the current data and the baseline data indicate changes in the user's condition. Databases containing kinematic chain models for the user are used to obtain more accurate and more specific indications regarding determined changes in the user's condition. A base kinematic chain model is created for the user when the user first uses the system and current kinematic chain models are generated for each biometric data set gathered. Characteristics of the base and the current kinematic chain models are compared to determine changes in the user's condition.

Abstract: A removable ball of the foot insert for placement into footwear at a position in correspondence with a forefoot portion of the footwear includes a substantially planar member made from a viscoelastic gel, the planar member including a lower surface and an upper surface, and a plurality of spring walls formed from a viscoelastic gel and extending from the lower surface of the planar member at a predetermined area corresponding to a ball of the foot when the insert is inserted into the footwear, for separating bones of second and third metatarsals of the foot, the spring walls having heights that generally decrease outwardly from a center of the predetermined area, and the viscoelastic gel of the planar member having a hardness greater than a hardness of the viscoelastic gel of the spring walls.

Abstract: A removable full length insole for insertion into open style footwear, includes a forefoot portion, a heel portion and a mid-foot portion connecting together the forefoot portion and the heel portion; a uniform thickness cushioning layer of a resilient material extending through the forefoot portion, heel portion and mid-foot portion; a substantially dome shaped pillow extending down from the cushioning layer at the forefoot portion and heel portion; and an arrangement for maintaining the insole in position in the footwear during a gait.

Abstract: A dual tensioning health support includes a support layer adapted to be at least partially wrapped about a body part; first and second elongated securing straps extending from opposite sides of the support layer adjacent a first common side of the support layer such that they can be simultaneously pulled away from each other in opposite directions without substantial twisting of the support layer; a first securing device for securing a distal end of the first elongated securing strap to the support layer after the first elongated securing strap has been wrapped at least partially about the body part; and a second securing device for securing a distal end of the second elongated securing strap to the support layer after the second elongated securing strap has been wrapped at least partially about the body part.

Abstract: A magnetic sheet comprising permanent magnetic particles arranged in a pattern to form alternating elongated zones of first and second opposite polarities, each zone being defined by spaced apart parallel zigzag boundary lines formed by a plurality of equal length, substantially linear segments which meet at point contacts to form sharp turns, with angles formed at the sharp turns and defined by connected segments being 90/, each zone of the first polarity being bounded by only two zones of the second polarity positioned on opposite sides thereof, and each zone of the second polarity being bounded by only two zones of the first polarity positioned on opposite sides thereof. The magnetic sheet of the invention has many applications, including a removable insole for insertion into footwear.
