  • Patent number: 10830465
Abstract: An integrated ventilation and illumination system includes a ventilation assembly, a light fixture assembly, and an adaptor. In an installed position, the ventilation assembly is installed in a ceiling of a room of building structure to provide ventilation for the room and the light fixture assembly is mounted in a low-profile configuration relative to the ceiling. The adaptor spans and obscures an inlet opening of the ventilation assembly and includes at least one opening that allows for the passage of air through both the adaptor and into the inlet opening. A mounting bracket is coupled to both the adaptor and the light fixture assembly in the installed position, where the fixture is offset a first critical distance from the adaptor to define an air flow gap that allows for air flow around the light fixture assembly, through the opening in the adaptor and into the internal region of the main housing.

  • Patent number: 6363556
Abstract: A linkage for an articulating bed comprises a first latch arm which extends from the knee section of an articulating bed. A latch bar is connected between the first latch arm and the back section of the articulating bed. The latch bar is displaceable between a first position and a second position. The latch arm is engageable with the latch bar when the latch bar is in the first position to maintain movement of the back section independent relative to the knee section. The latch arm is engageable with the latch bar when the latch bar is in the second position to interconnect the back section and the knee section.

  • Patent number: 5337428
Abstract: An adjustable bed includes a base frame, a mattress frame and linkage for mounting the mattress frame for relative movement with respect to the base frame. A mechanical jack is operatively connected to the base frame and the linkage for moving the mattress frame between high and low positions. A mechanical jack includes an enclosure. A bearing supports a ram within the enclosure for extension and retraction. A drive plate and a hold plate define apertures through which the ram extends. A drive bar is shifted by rotation of an actuator shaft to lock the drive plate to the ram and extend the ram from the housing. The drive spring resiliently biases the drive plate to an unlocked or return position. A hold spring biases the hold plate to a locked position to prevent return movement of the ram into the enclosure. A release bar is shifted into engagement with the hold plate upon reverse rotation of the actuator shaft to release the plate and permit lowering of the ram into the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5245718
Abstract: An adjustable bed includes a base frame and a mattress frame having a plurality of pivotally interconnected sections. A plurality of links are positioned between the base frame and the mattress frame. The mattress frame may be moved between a high position and a low position. A single linear actuator is connected to the mattress frame. The actuator is extendable and retractable to raise and lower the mattress frame with the mattress frame sections in a common plane. The actuator may also be retracted when the mattress frame is in the low position to articulate the mattress frame sections.

  • Patent number: 4852939
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lift base for converting a manual reclining chair to a powdered lift and reclining chair. The base is readily attached to the reclining hinge and drives the hinge parts as well as the chair frame. A simplified base linkage uses linkage plates as a common pivot mount for link connections inbetween the base and the chair.
