  • Patent number: 6464062
Abstract: A roller insert assembly is installed within a cooling bed plate including a plurality of spaced apart longitudinal members and a plurality of spaced apart transverse members which collectively define an array of pockets therebetween. The assembly includes a roller pivotal about a roller axis. An axle cooperates with the roller and is coaxially aligned with the roller axis. The axle has two end portions located at opposed axial ends of the roller. The assembly also includes a pair of bearing supports sized to fit within a pair of transversely aligned U-shaped cut-out notches. The U-shaped notches are formed in a pair of spaced apart longitudinal members. A bearing is mounted within each bearing support for pivotally engaging the axle end portions. The roller insert assembly is designed to orient an upper portion of the roller at a select height above the cooling bed plate to provide rolling support to a heated planar object positioned thereon during cooling.

  • Patent number: 5472179
Abstract: An insert for use with a cooling bed plate transfer grid including a plurality of longitudinal side grid members and a plurality of transverse cross grid members extending between the side grid members and coacting therewith to define a plurality of grid pockets, each sized to removably receive an insert. The insert includes a housing sized to fit in the pocket and including front and rear end flange portions adapted to seat on successive cross members. The housing is fixedly secured to the successive cross members by J bolts which extend downwardly and beneath the respective cross members for clamping engagement with the respective cross members. The housing further defines a central slot in which a roller is mounted. The roller is mounted on the central journal portion of a pin and the pin further includes rectangular end portions slidably received in vertical slots defined by the housing at opposite sides of the roller.

  • Patent number: 5277126
Abstract: A trolley roller assembly for use with a conveyor system and including a roller for rolling engagement with a track of the conveyor system and having a central bore, a trolley hanger, a pin member having a shaft portion passing through an aperture in the hanger and positioned in the roller bore, and a bearing interposed between the pin shaft portion and the roller. The pin member further includes an enlarged head portion positioned in the roller bore and forming an annular shoulder with the pin member shaft portion and the bearing comprises an outer race, a plurality of balls relatively mounted in the outer race, and an inner race formed in part by the pin member head portion and in part by a collar surrounding the pin member shaft portion and positioned against the annular shoulder of the pin member. The inner race is formed in part by an arcuate annular groove in the pin member head portion and in part by a complementary annular arcuate groove in the collar.

  • Patent number: 4993328
Abstract: A trolley wheel assembly for use with an overhead conveyor system. The trolley wheel assembly includes a roller comprising a solid generally cylindrical body with a blind bore opening in the outboard face of the roller; a shaft positioned at one end in the blind bore and having a free end projecting out of the bore for connection to a trolley hanger; a bearing positioned in the blind bore and including an inner race press fit on the shaft and an outer race press fit in the blind bore; and a metallic ring seal sealingly engaging at its outer periphery with the outboard annular face of the outer race and at its inner periphery with the outboard annular face of the inner race to preclude the entry of contaminants into the bearing or the escape of lubricants from the bearing.
