  • Patent number: 6958449
Abstract: A twist-on connector for joining ends of electrical conductors has a shell of electrically insulating material with an aperture. An anaerobic sealant is within the aperture. Prior to use, the volume of sealant is sufficiently large so that curing of the sealant is inhibited. Upon insertion of wires into the shell, the anaerobic sealant is dispersed into gaps between the wires and the shell that are sufficiently small to trigger curing of the anaerobic sealant into a hardened state.

Date of Patent: October 25, 2005
    Assignee: Actuant Corporation
Inventors: Bernard J. Ziebart, Michael F. Bedwell, Andrew J. Bonlender
  • Patent number: 6820457
Abstract: A plastic conduit bender comprises an integrally molded handle and head portion. A steel hook reinforcement is molded directly into the head portion to provide sufficient force for bending the conduit. Steel reinforcements can also be provided in a grip region of the handle. A plurality of vertical sight lines, indicating bend angles, are provided from an apex molded into the handle and extending to an arcuate shoe portion, allowing the user to gauge the approximate bend angle. A flat surface including rounded saddle portions for receiving the conduit is positioned on the handle to allow the conduit to be bent back or straightened, the rounded saddle contact surfaces preventing damage to the conduit as it is bent back.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6460638
Abstract: A bushing for a hole in a structural member includes a flange with an aperture there through. A plurality of tabs are hinged to the flange at locations around the aperture. During installation of the bushing, the plurality of tabs are inserted into the hole with the flange being located on one side of the structural member. The plurality of tabs then are flared outward on the opposite side of the structural member to prevent the bushing from being extracted from the hole. A plurality of latches retain the tabs in the flared position.
