  • Patent number: 4689848
Abstract: Desirable casters can be formed by using two separate, interfitting housing members to create the yoke of a caster. As these housing members are assembled they come together so as to hold the wheel of the caster generally between arms of the yoke (which are formed on the housing members) and so as to hold a shaft used in mounting the caster. Fasteners are provided so as to hold the housing members together in an operative configuration.

  • Patent number: 4522277
Abstract: A rocking scale or weighing device can be constructed so as to include a body equipped with two separate, spaced, identical bowed supports or rockers which extend generally between the ends of the body. A holder capable of holding an envelope or the like perpendicular to the body is located at one of the ends of the body. Guides are provided on the body for use in holding a counterbalance member so that it may be moved towards and away from the holder. Indicia are provided for indicating the weight of an object held by the holder by the position of the counterbalance member on the body. Detents may be provided for use in temporarily securing the counterbalance member in a specific position.

  • Patent number: 4384629
Abstract: A simple, inexpensive weighing device having only one part which moves relative to the remainder of the device can be constructed utilizing a body shaped so that it will rock relative to a supporting surface when an object is placed in a holder forming a part of the body. A pendulum type pointer is pivotally mounted on the body so that the approximate weight of the object can be determined by visual inspection of the position of the pointer relative to appropriate indicia on the body. The body is shaped so that the amount that it will rotate when an object is placed upon a holder is limited to such an extent that the horizontal distance between the object and the center of rotation of the pendulum does not change significantly so as to achieve a desired degree of accuracy in the weight indicated by the position of the pendulum.

  • Patent number: 4074918
Abstract: A locker serving as an article support or container adapted to be utilized with a conventional chair can be constructed so as to include a bottom, a top, two side walls, a closed end, an open end, and a door pivotally mounted on the top so as to be capable of being pivoted about a horizontal axis so as to close off the open end. A locking arm structure is pivotally mounted on the bottom adjacent to the closed end. The locker is capable of being inserted between the legs of the chair beneath the seat of the chair and above a member such as a brace forming a part of the chair in such a position that it is supported by the member. The locking arm can be pivoted beneath the member to a position in which an end of it is located adjacent to the door when the door is closed. Securing means such as "U" shaped loops are provided on the locking arm and on the door for use in securing the door against movement and the locker in place beneath the chair.
